Griechenland im Jahre 478 v.Chr.: Während König Leonidas von Sparta bei den Thermopylen versucht, mit nur 300 Kriegern zehntausende Perser aufzuhalten, beschließt der Athener General Themistokles, ihnen eine Seeflotte entgegen zu stellen. Doch mit Artemisia steht ihm eine besonders grausame Gegnerin gegenüber: Denn die Heerführerin der Perser handelt nicht nur im Auftrag des Gottkönigs Xerxes, welcher einst seinen Vater durch Themistokles Hand verlor. Als Kind geschändet und verschleppt durch griechische Hopliten, führt sie außerdem einen ganz persönlichen Rachefeldzug gegen ihre alte Heimat. Trotz trickreicher Taktik kann Themistokles gegen die pure Überzahl des persischen Heeres kaum etwas ausrichten. Als einer der wenigen überlebt er schwerverletzt die grausame Seeschlacht und erkennt, dass es nur eine Chance auf den Sieg gibt: Ein Bündnis mit dem verfeindeten Sparta… (ProSieben)

Ein äußerst effektvolles, mit Comic-Blut überflutetes Fußballspiel mit einer unwiderstehlich animalischen Szene in der Halbzeit (die mich erregt hat) und mit einer an sie anknüpfenden poetischen Aussage im Finale (das für mich ein Knockout war). Die Autoren verdienen ein Lob für die pompöse Auffassung vom Sequel als einer Ergänzung zu dem ersten, von jetzt an bescheiden wirkendem Film.

If it weren’t for Eva Green, there would barely be a third of the movie. Her charm has breathed life into this adaptation which is far more like a comic book movie than the first 300. It all stands or falls on whether she appears on the screen. Anyways, I was sort of sick and tired of this comic book feel. The first 300 was stylish and raw. But I’d compare this one to Sin City. Everything is purposely fake and wannabe cool. I’m not saying that it was disappointing, I’m really not. But it practically has just a single ace up its sleeve – Eva Green. Everything else is awfully fleeting.

Ich habe nichts erwartet, ich habe nichts bekommen (zählt das Kribbeln im Bein nicht?). Die Fortsetzung von "Tříkilovka" ist so leer, langweilig und seelenlos, dass es weder von den schönen Brüsten von Eva Green, noch von der finalen Melodie oder den fünf digitalen Blutbecken maskiert werden kann. Dank der übermäßigen Anzahl von Zeitlupenaufnahmen ist es ein heißer Kandidat für den langsamsten Blockbuster des Jahres.

A more than decent encore to the slaughter at Thermopylae. Less testosterone, more tactics, tricks and women. which makes the sequel much more diverse to watch. Eva Green steals the show, mainly because Stapleton simply doesn’t have the same charisma as Butler, and he knows it, and that’s why his character is craftier and, more than strength, he radiates intelligence. Xerxes, who initially was meant to be the mainstay of the movie, surprisingly appears somewhere toward the back, but Rodrigo still really enjoys his most famous role. A well-justified (what’s the word?) sidequel, that works even without the original 300.

Der einzige zwingende Grund, die Fortsetzung von 300 nicht völlig zu ignorieren, ist natürlich Eva Green. Bezüglich des Comics "Xerxes: The Fall of the House of Darius and the Rise of Alexander", letzteres erschien 4 Jahre nach dem 2. Film und 20 Jahre nach dem ersten Comicalbum "300", so dass das Werk inzwischen deutlich überreif ist und in jene Phase von Frank Millers Werk fällt, über die selbst die treuesten Anhänger nicht mehr diskutieren wollen.

Pity that digital blood (intentionally, but still not good) and low-end makers, because if it had been directed again Snyder, with an A-list cast and more polished visuals, it could have been the hit of the year. The screenplay is surprisingly skillful well-executed screenplay, Eva Green is the woman of the year and even the protagonist wasn't that terrible. The battles, however, are controversial and the overall visuals are inconsistent, they are occasionally clever and clear, sometimes awful and chaotic. Contradictory thing, but I liked the uncompromising rating and this film orgasm that may not be surpassed this year.

Manche Dinge sind schlechter als im ersten Teil, manche besser. Letztendlich ist es aber ein guter Film. Der Hauptheld ist vielleicht nicht so charismatisch wie Leonidas, er wird aber als raffinierter Stratege dargestellt, der auch Fehler macht. Die Kämpfe und Schlachtszenen haben mir vielleicht noch besser als die in 300 gefallen – vor allem die erste Szene im Sturm mit den Blitzen in Zeitlupe war atemberaubend. Eva Green hat die unberechenbare wilde Frau hervorragend gespielt. Der Film war für mich ein angenehmer Zeitvertreib. Es hat mir gefallen, dass der Film nicht bewährte Dinge wiederholt hat, sondern mit einer Reihe von neuen Ideen gekommen ist.

Compared to the first one, there is more emphasis on the story, the exteriors are more varied and the "red" action at times tries to give the impression of real battle strategy, which I consider a good step in contrast to the monotonous chopping and endless slow-motion of Snyder (although this one has too much slow-motion, too). However, the only thing that elevates this cool, visually messy parade of abs and heroic platitudes slightly above the level of the first one is the head-cutting, eye-murdering, hard-fucking but outrageously attractive and sexy Eva Green, who endows her role with such charisma that Leonidas would quickly stick his head in the sand in front of her. For her sake, I not only throw in an extra star, but even declare the second 300 a very, very enjoyable and exciting waste of time. 55%

Ein blutiger Film, Kriegsorgie und mächtig viel Action. Zum Start in die neue Arbeitswoche ideal zum Entspannen, Abschalten und sich im IMAX von griechisch-persischen Kriegen forttragen lassen. Ich muss anerkennen, dass der Film viele Tücken hat - fast Schwarzweißmalerei, wo ich als Zuschauer wohl den Griechen die Daumen halten müsste, zu viel Pathos am Schluss oder das zeitweilige Abflachen der Handlung. Aber ich habe diesen Film kurz gesagt genossen. Nun, und Eva Green. Schon lange sind ein Freund von mir und ich zu dem eindeutigen Schluss gelangt, dass der Begriff "perverse Schönheit“ nur von dieser Schauspielerin ausgefüllt wird und keine andere auch nur andeutungsweise an sie heranlangt. Für eine solche Rolle eignet sich niemand anderes besser als sie. Eva ist auch einer der Gründe, warum ich zu fünf Sternen tendiere und warum ich im Film eher den Persern die Daumen gehalten habe. Und warum zum Teufel habe ich sie eigentlich nicht unter meinen Lieblingsschauspielerinnen?

I was thinking, why does it make sense to continue something that is closed and stands perfectly on its own? The intentions are obviously purely commercial, which is evident in the story itself, which forcibly tries to fit into the events of the first film and succeeds in avoiding most of the characters from the first film. It doesn't change the fact that it's just flashy masturbation over the modern concept of action, which is indeed brutal, but that's still not enough, right? Some percentage for a naked Eva Green. That view is worth it.

Another great action movie full of awesome effects and especially slow-motion shots. I didn't mind that it’s been done before, because I like this type of movies, but there are quite a few flaws. Most importantly, the main characters in the two movies lack consistency, and there are virtually no memorable moments that I wouldn’t forget in a week. Don’t even get me started on historical accuracy or logic in the movie (a bunch of poets and sculptors, as they described themselves in one of the battles, can defeat an elite Persian army ...). The laws of gravity also don’t seem to fully apply here (exemplified by a digital horse as if straight out of “Assassin's Creed”). I might give it another watch some day, when I feel like some mindless entertainment. But I still prefer the first installment.
