If Ramba’s in it, it's a given that it's not going to suck. And not just that clever girl but the whole bunch of her colleagues gave it their all. It was so damn real I wanted to cover my eyes. I know this, I've heard this, I hear this a lot, that's exactly it, I can't believe it. These were the thoughts going through my head. The kind of atmosphere that makes you want to escape, but at the same time you want more. I’m not giving it full marks because I didn't like the ending of the film at all. And by that I don't mean how it ended, but the manner in which it ended. I didn't like the choice of music and the last 5 minutes or so evoked mixed feelings in me. Otherwise, it was awesome. 4.5 stars. (26.11.2019)

An hour and a half of concentrated depression. I didn’t see the play, but it must have made you think about ending it all after seeing it. The acting’s great, apart from some minor exaggeration and (in my eyes rather forced) attempts at humor, but this is popular with the viewers, so I quite understand. I was surprised how realistic the portrayal of the owners was, and I would have gone for a more vicious ending, causing greater catharsis. (03.01.2022)

Eine wunderbare Mikro-Komödie aus einem Milieu, das allein schon durch sein Potenzial inspiriert. Jiří Havelka ist eine interessante Persönlichkeit von heute, als Schauspieler sieht er zwar gut aus, wirkt aber unbeholfen, doch als Regisseur ist er kreativ und einer der besten der neuen Generation von Studio Ypsilon. Sein Film Die Eigentümer haben eine großartige, sogar (für tschechische Verhältnisse) herausragende Besetzung. Ausgezeichnet die Art, auf ein gemeinsames Ziel hinzuarbeiten, und vor allem komödiantisches Timing. Bear with Us bietet eine ähnliche Art von Humor, aber ich habe das Gefühl, dass ich tatsächlich regelmäßig zu Die Eigentümer zurückkehren werde. I sadly didn't have fun the way I should have (or wanted to). The characters are all overly exaggerated caricatures for my taste, although I can't say that I don't know a representative of each group personally, and all their replicas and dialogue skirmishes mostly only sound like a well- written script, but still lacking something real. The actors, headed by Jiří Lábus and Teresa Ramba, help it as much as they can with their utmost efforts, and the result is not a bad, but rather an awkward bitter comedy that can only dream of being as good as Forman's or Papoušek’s dissections of human nature. Das Motto der Eigentümer: "Eine Komödie für diejenigen, die das nicht erlebt haben. Ein Drama für die, die es leben." - spiegelt sehr treffend die Gesamtatmosphäre des Films wider, wie man sie schon lange nicht mehr hatte. So viele Figuren, so viele unterschiedliche Charaktere, deren Interaktionen im Laufe des Films, der die meiste Zeit in einem einzigen Raum spielt, sowohl echte Lacher als auch Gänsehaut hervorrufen. Diese Tragikomödie stützt sich vor allem auf eine hervorragende Besetzung und ein dynamisches Drehbuch, das eine Reihe von äußerst lustigen, aber auch scharfen Sequenzen bietet. Am Ende des Films mag es ein wenig theatralisch und übertrieben wirken, aber da der Film seine Wurzeln im Bühnenstück hat, gibt es nicht viel, worüber man sich wundern muss. Ich bleibe jedoch dabei, dass dies einer der besten Filme ist, die wir in den letzten Jahren in diesem Genre gesehen haben. Ein unglaublich witziger und zugleich erschreckend authentischer Ausflug in das Leben vieler von uns. (01.12.2019)

An meinem Geburtstag hätte ich keine bessere Wahl treffen können. Ein kongeniales Theaterstück in filmischer Ausführung, gespielt von führenden tschechischen Schauspielerinnen und Schauspielern, von denen in meinen Augen Klára Melíšková (so einen Fall möchten Sie auf Ihrer Eigentümerversammlung treffen) und Tereza Voříšková (ich werde sie immer so nennen) hervorstechen. Das bedeutet nicht, dass die anderen nicht auch hervorragend wären, doch diese beiden haben den Böhmischen Löwen tatsächlich verdient. Eine tschechische Tragikomödie und dabei so realistisch, dass es wehtut. Bravo, Jiří Havelka... (23.03.2020)

I’m certainly not fond of Jiří Havelka as an actor, so I was all the more surprised by how I liked him in the role of a screenwriter and director. I had a great time, and I laughed out loud. In a certain respect, it also worked as a horror movie. If I were an owner of a property in a similar situation, I would definitely not watch this film for the sake of my sanity. Originally, I wanted to analyze the most interesting characters, but then I realized it wouldn’t be possible. Each and every one of the characters was interesting. I was just a little sorry that it wasn't possible to keep up the high quality until the very end, but I was very satisfied nevertheless. 5* (11.05.2020)

Brilliantly executed conversational drama with elements of comedy that skillfully encompasses a wide range of diverse characters across "noble" Czech society. Looking at this panorama of human characters, I feel like shouting out that confining it to just the owners of apartments in one building is at least somewhat unambitious. (80%) (31.01.2021)
