Sex Education

When I look away from the fact that this series takes place in some kind of an American bubble in the middle of Wales, which doesn’t make a lick of sense, I must say that it’s a great comedy piece, the likes of which I haven’t seen in a while. I felt great while watching it. The characters are wonderful and that’s thanks to that great feeling you get from the story; you just want everyone to be happy. Moreover, it’s a lot about gays and lesbians, and sex in general. In the end, however, the sex is just the icing on the cake, because it’s mostly about a certain community of people who are more open than the rest of the world – which is actually the thing you enjoy the mostabout this. The best teen event not only among series, but across movies in general. The Brits pull it off and serve up such a great series that you'll not only want to go back to school immediately, but also go out on the streets and have a fight with someone. Cleverly written, entertainingly directed with likeable characters you'll empathise with and root for. Some may complain about the presence of LGBT and that the show is too international, but that's the way it is in the UK so the show sticks to reality only and I personally didn't mind at all. Maeve and Ruby are powerful babes and Asa Butterfield is absolutely awesome. Addictive as fuck and delighted by the frequency of sex scenes and crushing twists.100% (05.03.2020)

Sex Education has been recommended to me numerous times from literally every direction. The title didn't entice me much, but I love British English and I have some extra time now, so I gave the series a try. I breezed through the first series at a pace of about one episode every two days, and at the very least, I can say I wasn't bored. On the other hand, the running time of each episode is quite long considering the subject matter. Each character is different, but they are all very distinct in their differences, and in the second season their characters start to develop nicely. I'm enjoying it. 4 stars. (29.04.2020)

In der Serie dominiert Gillian Anderson, obwohl sie nicht die Hauptfigur ist. Das bedeutet aber nicht, dass die anderen uninteressant wären. Im Gegenteil. Der Hauptheld und alle, die sich um ihn wie in einem Modell vom Sonnensystem drehen, sind ausgezeichnet. Obwohl die meisten von ihnen zu schon gesehenen und gut bekannten Charakterschablonen gehören, entwickeln sie sich im Rahmen dieser Schablonen, kriechen aus ihnen heraus und kehren in sie wieder zurück. Das ist witzig. Die Autoren haben auch ziemlich viele Überraschungen vorbereitet (siehe das Ende). Deshalb habe ich ohne Probleme jede Folge genossen und freue mich auf die zweite Staffel. I'm writing my review after only two seasons, as I have no desire to watch the third one. The first season was quite okay. I had a few issues with it, but no big deal. When watching the second season, I realized that the series was intended for a completely different target audience, which I respect and I'll stop watching it before I disappoint all those satisfied viewers by spoiling the average rating. 4*- (17.03.2020)

What is this? A big surprise that delighted me immensely. Great humour, original, inventive and entertaining dialogues, but the main thing I have to highlight are the performances of the two male leads, because I had a great time with Asa Butterfield and Ncuti Gatwa. Their characters are fun, and their expressions, their grimaces... just perfection. Asa is talented, but we've known that for a while, but Ncuti aka Eric is the acting discovery of the year for me. It's true that I enjoyed the comedy episodes a bit more, because there's a momentum and punch to it. Once it gets more dramatic, it certainly doesn't get boring, but it does detract a bit from the overall mood of the series. Actually, it has only one flaw, not enough episodes, I would have taken more if it kept the quality. (22.02.2019)

For those who revel in awkward situations, this is an ideal series to watch with your whole family. However, it is difficult to evaluate, as the whole story and humor are so far-fetched and often have little to do with the real world. You get used to it over time, though, and it gradually turns into a slightly more serious story about unrequited (or misunderstood) love. Nevertheless, the number of bizarre situations remains the same. Finally, I have to appreciate the perfect casting and I wonder if the seventies Britain vibe was intentional or if time had definitely stopped on that island. (01.11.2019)
