Bad Boys - Harte Jungs 2

Ein abartiger, vulgärer und hyperdestruktiver Fetisch für ein "modernes Publikum", der mit einem doofen Drehbuch und Ecstasy in der Birne gedreht wurde. Bad Boys II ist unterhaltsamer und energischer als Bad Boys - Harte Jungs, aber auch dreckiger, hektischer und chaotischer. Das betrifft auch die Actionszenen, die bei weitem nicht so elegant wie die in The Rock - Fels der Entscheidung sind. Eine Ausnahme ist die Autoverfolgungsjagd auf den Brücken von Miami, die zu dem Besten gehört, was das Genre bietet. Die komischste Figur hat – leider auf einem sehr kleinen Raum – Joe Pantoliano dargestellt. Schade, dass das Potenzial der schleimigen russischen Figur von Peter Stormare nicht mehr genutzt wurde. Der Hauptschuft ist OK. Manchmal ist es eine SEHR witzige und schwungvolle Unterhaltung, manchmal ist sie sehr leer und dumm. Michael Bay, der sich von der Leine losgerissen hat und kein Gefühl für das richtige Maß hat. Wusaaa! ***1/2 (15.08.2003)

Bay is perfectly in tune with the xenophobic mood of America in recent years. Bad Boys II is an adrenaline rush that gives me the willies. And what about Martin Lawrence?......."No worries. You and I are just cocky badass cops and the rest of you are =CENSORED= that we can mash to a pulp, trash whatever we can get our hands on and don't give a shit about the law. All foreigners are scum, we don't give a fuck about the corpses in the morgue, it's not our bodies, is it? Running over dead bodies from the morgue, that's fun, nigga, ain't it? And the Cubans? They're subhumans, such human trash, I'd be happy to bulldoze over their shacks, I don't give a shit that there might be some people there, they're such commie scum."..... "And don't you think, Martin, that a little self-reflection might do some good?"...... "What the =CENSORED= are you talking about? A lot of people liked it, even KevSpa was thrilled! Ich bin kein Rassist, aber der Archetypus des Hollywood-Nigga-Machos geht mir wirklich auf die Nerven. Und wenn die beiden zusammenkommen, ausgestattet mit einem Arsenal an dummen Sprüchen, Designer-Klamotten und verpackt in eine fadenscheinige Geschichte über Drogendealer... nun, was glauben Sie, was dann passiert? Ein unglaublich naiver Film mit großartigen Actionsequenzen. Ich hätte mich damit abgefunden, den Film auf sie zu beschränken und unnötige Zwischenspiele und "humorvolle" Reden von Will Smith und Martin Lawrence wegzulassen. Zwei Sterne für Michael Bays traditionell geschickte Regie, den rasanten Schnitt und die abwechslungsreiche Kameraführung. Was leider nicht bedeutet, dass Sie Bad Boys II mit einem Hirn im Online-Modus ansehen können. (05.11.2005)

Plenty of shots of pumped-up Smith and awkward Lawrence, a solid chase, a wannabe cool group of Haitians, and an excellent finish in the sand. But above all, plenty of missed references and shooting at seemingly all ethnicities or minorities. Bay's complete madness. (22.12.2005)

With the second Bad Boys, Michael Bay returned to where he belongs. After all, action-packed, wisecracking relax movies are what he does best. And when he returned, he took two Miami cops from the narcotics unit, Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence). Too bad that the screenplay gets lost in a sea of flawless action, interspersed with wisecracks from Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, but nothing’s ever perfect. Bay makes up for this with crazy scenes in the morgue or bodies falling out of cars (I hope you won’t think I’m crazy when I admit that I almost died laughing in the movie theater). I think I wouldn’t mind if we were treated to a part three that’s at least similarly good. (24.11.2006)

Very weak for Michael Bay’s standards, with tons of awkward dialogues that hinder an otherwise decently started storyline. The director covers up all the holes in the script with what he does best, breathtaking action. But even that has its flaws. The shootout at the intersection is practically a weaker copy of Mann's shootout outside the bank in Heat, with the same camera positions, the same shots, etc. Bay, of course, cuts much more disproportionately and the camera filters reduce the dose of reality to a minimum, but that's not the point here. Martin Lawrence is traditionally awkward, but we're already used to that. Annoyingly American crap. Movies like this won't make a great name for the current Hollywood film industry... (26.01.2006)

Bad Boys II – was haben wir hier alles? Alte Bekannte in einer visuell perfekt dargestellten Action, viele ausgezeichnete, gute sowie peinliche Witze, Familienprobleme, eine übertriebene Laufzeit (der Film hätte ruhig 25 Minuten kürzer sein können), eine köstliche Verfolgungsjagd auf der Autobahn, eine Passage im Leichenhaus, bei der ich vor Lachen geweint habe, ein perfektes Ende auf Kuba (der "Plan C" ist unglaublich)… In einer Nebenrolle erscheint Peter Stormare (Bay, verflixt, warum hast du ihm nicht mehr Raum gegeben? Ach ja.). Der Schuft von Jordi Mollà ist zwar nicht so gut wie Karyo im ersten Teil, er ist aber eine charismatische Sau. Und dann gibt es hier viele Dinge, die nicht notwendig waren und aus Bad Boys II einen überladenen Brei gemacht haben. Kurzum, drei Sterne sind gerade richtig. Den ersten Teil gibt es nur einmal. Schade, dass die Musik (das Hauptmotiv) aus dem ersten Teil gefehlt hat. (19.07.2010)

An almost abysmal difference from the entertaining and brisk first one. The characters of Lawrence and Smith may still have the same potential, but it’s hopelessly drowned in 150 minutes of repetitive, foul-mouthed dialogue that becomes irrevocably boring after a short while. Michael Bay seems to have gained a very high opinion of his work after the success of The Rock, and instead of continuing to make exclusively action-packed popcorn movies for the entertainment of the audience, he started betting everything on profit. Perhaps it’s paying off for him, but I'm not going to forgive him. 50% (09.06.2012)

Ein gutes Beispiel eines Films, der mir im Alter von etwa zwölf, dreizehn Jahren unglaublich gut gefallen hat und im Erwachsenenalter eher Kopfschütteln hervorruft. Ich erinnere mich, dass der erste Teil eine großartige Mischung aus Action und Humor war. Im zweiten Teil würde ich den Humor mehr hervorheben – der abgeschossene Hintern, die Szene mit den Kameras im Laden, das war gut. Die übertriebene Laufzeit mit einer einfachen Handlung hat mich aber nicht beeindruckt. Den dritten Teil werde ich mir vielleicht in ein paar Jahren anschauen, falls mich nicht das lockt, was bestehen bleibt – das Titellied. (16.01.2024)

It's just a sequel. Bay wants to be even more spectacular, but he's basically just repeating himself. There are even more slow-motion shots, and even more technique, and it almost forgets about the main thing - camaraderie. But the lead duo thankfully saves the day and still has some bright and funny moments to win you over. (28.04.2017)
