The likeable Eliška (Petra Hřebíčková) is the loving wife of charismatic and rich Pavel (Jiří Langmajer), full-time. That is, until he very nicely and tactfully asks for a divorce before her fortieth birthday. If she's going to be building a new life for herself, she's building it from the ground up! Eliška decides to start over as a teacher in a small village in Central Bohemia. The distinctly hyperactive mayor (Miroslav Táborský) makes Eliška share a house with the grumpy Božíček (Ondřej Vetchý), who, thanks to his own unpleasant experiences, decided that he's "done with women forever". The only thing that can top his brutal sarcasm and unrefined behavior is his occupation - he's the local gravedigger. Eliška's recently started holding a grudge against men however, so she won't just stand and take it... (CinemArt)

Englisch I could probably complain a bit that the film’s overall positivity about everything reminded me of Kameňák or Babovřesky. But I felt so great while watching the movie that it would be a pity to bring it down to average with a single sentence like this. You see, Ondřej Vetchý once again puts in a great performance and Petra Hřebíčková’s character provides him with great company. And on top of that, the remaining actors create great caricatures and elevate the good-hearted atmosphere of the film even higher. So, I walked home from the cinema with a crazy-man’s smile on my face, which didn’t disappear even on the next day. That’s the kind of impact this movie had on me. ()

Englisch With this movie, a lot depends on whether you like Petra Hřebíčková. Because while Ondra has a lot of space here (and he's good), it's more her film. She's the one talking, laughing, hysterical... she just rocks. And the story isn't boring either: you snicker sometimes, laugh sometimes at the typical, different features of men and women, and finally leave the cinema with a pleasant feeling, without chaos in the head. A Czech romance that is definitely worth watching. 3.5 stars. ()

Englisch The opening exposition with Vetchý as gravedigger is faultless. Of course it soon slips into a predictable romantic comedy with a lightning change into a compatible partner, but it still has style and really funny humor. For a Czech production, this is a massive success and so I’m giving it more stars than I might otherwise. I’m doing it for the kids. ()

Englisch There was a lot of major and minor nonsense, but the truth is that I had some good laughs, and since I dabble in scale modeling, the scene with the painting of the plane was hilarious. ()

Englisch A relatively pleasant Czech romantic comedy, which plays on the fact that there are quite crazy characters and good performances along with it. Ladies will enjoy it, but it didn't offend me in any way. It wasn't an outright laugh, but there were some good jokes, plus the film is pleasantly silly. ()
