The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise Of Electro

Wie soll man einen Film bewerten, der visuell schön ist, technisch ausgefeilt und durch Zimmer solide geboostet, aber inhaltlich so s-c-h-r-e-c-k-l-i-c-h langweilig? Sogar Zeichentrickfilme für Kinder haben ja einfallsreichere und erfrischendere Drehbücher, sie reichen die Hand der erwachsenen Begleitung. Im Hinblick darauf, wie viele Comic-Blockbuster es schon vor The Amazing Spider-Man 2 gab, kann man ihn für seine inhaltliche Fadheit nicht mehr akzeptieren. Die Hälfte des Films wird von einer romantischen Linie ausgefüllt, bei der man nicht glaubt, dass sie wirklich so eintönig und klischeehaft ist. Die zweite Hälfte besteht aus einer Kollision mit den Negativgestalten, welche abgeleiert und langweilig schon im zweiten Teil von Raimis Trilogie wirken würden. Kein Fortschritt, kein Zuzwinkern in Richtung Publikum, nichts. Ohne Pep und eine Andeutung von Kreativität. Ein 20-mal gekochtes Wasser. Den nächsten Teil werde ich mir bestimmt nicht mehr ansehen, mit Spidey ist jetzt Schluss. (24.04.2014)

Already with the first instalment I was telling to myself that Amazing Spiderman is a terribly unnecessary affair. On the other hand, this Spiderman is much more comic book-like, which makes it more interesting. It is true that although I went to see both of these movies with reluctance, at the end I was completely satisfied in both of these cases. The only shortcoming of the second instalment is the fact that there are more déjà vu moments reminding you of the first movie, especially in all scenes with young Osborn. Anyhow, the fact that the creators placed their bets completely on the cast made me watch this and spend over two hours enjoying the view. Andrew Garfield is cool and Emma Stone and Felicity Jones are great. So whether you like it or not, you just can’t be angry with this restart. (01.02.2015)

Der Einser war hormonengeladen, der Zweier akzeptiert bereits die Tatsache, dass die Figur etwas Grundlegenderem (Tod, Verantwortung, Einsamkeit) die Stirn bieten und sie irgendwie entwickeln und thematisieren muss. Leider stellt sich hier das Syndrom des Leerdreschens von bereits leerem Strohs eine - wohlgemerkt mit dem Ausdruck eines Bauern, dessen Vieh gerade gestorben ist. All diese Klischees und Liebeswendungen sind derart blöd, dass selbst der nonchalante Webb an Grazie verliert und das Ganze an schwache moralistischen Momente von Raimis Trilogie erinnert. Zeitgleich gibt es auch weiterhin eine gewisse Inkonsistenz zwischen den pubertär losgelösten Eskapaden in den Wolken sowie den ziemlich harten Momenten (die Einführungsszene wirkt nahezu im Nolan-Ton kontaktfreudig und donnernd) / der Bemühung, die Bösewichte umfassender zu motivieren. Doch das ist nichts, womit Spidey bestechen würde, also gilt genau, wie es hier bereits erwähnt wurde - ausgezeichnete Action, einfallsreich, eine Art Verknüpfung aber dazwischen ist´s etwas lau. Es ist zwar immer noch nichts, was mich beleidigen würde, jedoch auch nichts, was ich mit erhöhter Aufmerksamkeit und Zuneigung beobachten könnte. (24.04.2014)

Emotions overcome reason, anger overshadows some more humane feelings, and somewhere deep within, there's that persistent desire for a deeper understanding of oneself and one's own origin. I wrote that in the previous installment, and I'll write it again now – and perhaps for the last time. Sam Raimi's version was great, but it is Marc Webb's personal approach and scriptwriting greatness that makes The Amazing Spider-Man an unforgettable series. Even after this Electric Rhapsody becomes just another interchangeable summer action film for everyone else, I will remember much more. I will remember Emma Stone, who dialed down her sassy approach and ultimately became the true and genuine Gwen Stacy. I will remember the nervously escalating storyline of Harry, which, even in a smaller space, causes a chilling sensation. And above all, I will remember a more mature Andrew Garfield, who effortlessly handles both the jumping red and blue quipster and the torn-up mess seeking help from his loved ones. In combination with the first film, it is a perfectly intoxicating experience, thwarted only by the greed of Sony bosses on the path to a unique trilogy. It's a tremendous shame, making all the preparation for further adventures utterly futile. Considering the power of the story about the rise of a young loner to becoming a hero, it is so frustrating that my frustrated arguments became irrelevant only a month later when Spider-Man returned to Marvel instead of another reboot. How he fared among the established Avengers, however, is a different story altogether. (05.07.2014)

So this looks like the surprise of the year so far. I was quite worried, especially after seeing the dub-step trailers, but it’s good. In terms of story, maybe a bit too long, doing it harm, but still better than season one. Full of snappy lines and perfect, really elaborate action crowned by an iconic moment that once shook the foundations of the whole comic world. The repulsive Fox as Electro is watchable thanks to his skills, but anybody else would have been better in that role, anybody. Giamatti doesn’t make much of an appearance, but DeHaan makes the very most of Harry, Goblin is surplus to requirements and could have easily waited for the next episode. But anyway. After watching the trailers I was expecting a catastrophe, but in the end it was very strong number 4. I’m still happier with the overall mood than with Raimi directing. I’m looking forward the number three, it’s all started off very well. “What are you doing? Durch die sich überschneidende Romanze mit Gwen Stacy, die in den Original-Comics sehr ikonisch ist, erhält diese Geschichte eine neue Dimension. Der freundliche Feind ist auch ein sehr schönes Element. Es braucht wirklich nicht viel, um selbst den x-ten Spider-Man interessant zu machen, man muss nur nicht das Original nacherzählen, und schon ist er viel konsumierbarer. (20.01.2017)

The series with Andrew Garfield is certainly more likeable than the decade older one, even though they have almost the same visuals and love story. Emma Stone is more natural, Spider Man is more human-like (more realistic), and the action is more robust. However, it is still the most childlike comic book hero among the main ones, and it still isn't grasped as it could be – or rather, it is still a sterile Hollywood action movie with a lot of clichés, corny scenes, and expected twists that don't necessarily need to be there. It's the same thing for the twentieth time. It's charming, but it's already getting repetitive. (01.05.2014)

Im Unterschied zu dem vorherigen Teil, den ich erst beim zweiten (dritten) Mal gut gefunden habe, hat mir The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise Of Electro gleich gefallen. Ich möchte kein Geheimnis daraus machen, dass der Film vor allem mit mehr Gelassenheit und mit vielen wirklich witzigen Momenten gepunktet hat. An dem Ergebnis haben aber gleichermaßen die bombastischen Actionszenen Anteil, welche viel besser und einfallsreicher als im ersten Teil sind. Alle Schauspieler*innen wirken völlig natürlich und sympathisch. Die Negativgestalten erwecken abwechselnd Mitleid und Entsetzen. So sollte es sein. Beim Finale musste ich den Atem anhalten, obwohl ich gewusst habe, was kommt. Überraschenderweise hat es mir auch nicht leidgetan, dass James Horner durch Hans Zimmer ersetzt wurde, weil er nach einer gewissen Zeit (zusammen mit ein paar anderen Leuten, die ich nicht kenne) eine wirklich gelungene Musik komponiert hat, welche ein klassisches Orchester mit Electro kombiniert, und den Film mit einem prima Fanfarenmotiv ausgestattet hat. Schade, dass Osborn Junior nicht mehr Raum bekommen hat. Man hätte deshalb ruhig die langwierige romantische Geschichte von Peter und Gwen verkürzen können.__PS: Die Szene im Abspann ist völlig überflüssig und fade, obwohl sie aus der X-Men-Welt stammt.__PPS: Und was ist mit dem Mörder von Onkel Ben? So viele Oscar-Schauspieler*innen in so einem Film? Es ist überraschend und fast unglaublich. Ich habe nie verstanden, warum Spider-Man ständig umbesetzt wird, warum sich die Besetzung der anderen Rollen ändert und die Geschichte wiederholt wird. Wahrscheinlich ist es aber so ähnlich wie bei Batman oder Superman. Die Chemie zwischen Andrew und Emma ist ausgezeichnet, Electro ist effektvoll. Green Goblin erscheint vielleicht ein bisschen zu spät. Die Geschichte ist OK, drei Sterne. (06.04.2023)

This is exactly what you expect from a similar movie nowadays. There's a lot of action, it's heavily focused on special effects, the 3D looks excellent, it's occasionally funny, epic, and introspective, and yet I can't help but feel somewhat unimpressed. Modern CGI-filled movies unfortunately leave me cold, so I'm really glad that the screenwriters at least stuck to the canon and did exactly what every fan of the comic series anticipated. Moreover, it looks promising for the next installment, especially with the villains involved. (27.04.2014)
