Weil sie durch das Berühren von Rapunzels Haar ewige Jugend erlangen möchte, raubt die böse Hexe Gothel die Königstochter aus dem elterlichen Schloss und zieht sie abgeschottet von der Welt in einem Turm wie ihr eigenes Kind auf. Das Versteck liegt in einem Tal, dass von Menschen nicht gefunden werden kann. Dort wächst die hübsche Rapunzel fast 18 Jahre lang alleine auf, lediglich einige Tiere sind ihre Freunde. Trotzdem entwickelt sie sich zu einem äußerst neugierigen und abenteuerlustigen Mädchen – mit extrem langen Haaren. Ihre vermeintliche Mutter Gothel warnt den hübschen Teenager eindringlich vor der Außenwelt, die viel zu schrecklich für sie sei. Doch irgendwann, beginnt sich Rapunzel in ihrem Gefängnisheim zu langweilen. Das ändert sich, als eines Tages der selbstverliebte Dieb Flynn ohne Vorwarnung in ihrem Wohnzimmer steht: Flynn Rider ist ein kleiner Gauner, wie er im Buche steht. Er ist smart, liebenswürdig und seinen verbissenen Verfolgern immer einen Schritt voraus. Nach einem Raub auf der Flucht, trifft er im Wald auf den scheinbar verlassenen Turm. Hoch erfreut darüber, einen Unterschlupf gefunden zu haben, klettert er an dem Turm hoch. Noch größer ist aber seine Überraschung, als er da oben auf Rapunzel trifft, die ihn überwältigt und Flynn mit ihrer über 20 Meter langen blonden Haarpracht fesselt. Rapunzel wittert die Chance auf ein aufregenderes Leben und macht dem smarten Gauner ein Angebot, das er nicht ablehnen kann. Sie stellt dem hübschen Jüngling eine Bedingung: Freiheit! Und so machen sich Rapunzel, ihr bester Freund, das Chamäleon Pascal, Flynn Rider und das Palast-Pferd Maximus auf zu großen Abenteuern. Eine haarsträubende Geschichte beginnt, bei der sich das ungleiche Duo mehr als einmal in den Haaren liegt... (RTL)

When they aren’t singing those intrusive and superfluous songs, it is a passable Shrek movie. But when Russel Crowe, well, Maximus, is on screen, it’s excellent.

Wow, Disney still knows how to do something like this? Such beautiful hair, such beautiful eyes, such a beautiful princess, and such a beautiful storyline! The movie revolved around the hair and yet it was magical. It missed that 5th star really just by a hair.

A modern veneer, but a real Disney movie at heart. It took me back to the days when my mother fed me one fairytale after another, and I'll tell you, I kind of miss those days. Everything always turns out well in this movie. And the perfect supporting characters, "the horse" and "the chameleon", had me captivated. The action scenes are breathtaking, the Prince of Persia can’t compare with Flynn and the romance makes every frozen heart beat hard again. For women and young ladies Tangled is a safe bet, and for men this is a snappy-lined action spectacle with a pretty blonde beating bad guys over the head with a frying pan. Well, a fake reputation is all a man has.

Disney, so wie wir ihn kennen – nur in 3D. In Rapunzel - Neu verföhnt gibt es alles, was mir an den Märchen vom Mäuserich-Studio gefällt, aber auch nicht gefällt. Perfekte Figuren – Menschen sowie Tiere (ich will einen Pferdehund!!), eine einfache, aber gut geschriebene Geschichte mit einer angemessenen Portion Humor (für Groß und Klein) und Romantik, eine gelungene Musik und ein paar sehr einprägsame Lieder. Auf der anderen Seite gingen mir Animationsfilme, in denen die Figuren singen, immer ein bisschen gegen den Strich, was teilweise auch ein Problem bei diesem Film war. Hier hat mich am meisten das superromantische Duett im Boot gestört – eine Szene, die so süß war, dass sie für ein paar Minuten meinen Diabetes durcheinandergebracht hat. Trotzdem gebe ich dem Film viereinhalb Sterne, weil er schön war.

It would need a richer plot and fewer musical numbers in the first half to be flawless, but otherwise manages to perfectly incorporate all the popular motifs while applying modern crazy humour like the second Shrek. It's another Disney production, so brace yourself for the inevitable dose of songs and dances. But hey, even after all these years, I still had a pretty good time with it. I enjoyed it more the first time, though. Nevertheless, the tale of a girl with hair that could tempt any wig maker to lick their eyebrows in delight managed to elicit a few laughs from me. My absolute favorite character turned out to be the law enforcer Maximus, and the journey to the inevitably happy ending kept me entertained for the most part. / Lesson learned: When it comes to choosing weapons, opt for a frying pan. If you find yourself in Japan, then binoculars should be your second choice. 3*+

I don't give it as much as "Frozen" (I gave that 100%, "Tangled" 90%), but still, it's an animated film that absolutely amazed me. It was an amazing experience in the cinema, and even now, watching it for the second time in a home environment, it's something beautiful that greatly improves your mood. Of course, you will mainly remember the chameleon and a lot of hair from this film, but it's more than what most other movies you see leave in you. And those emotions are simply beautiful. In this edition, even the happy endings will make you fall in love.
