Savage Streets stars Linda Blair as a tough high school coed turned vigilante against a brutal gang of rapists and murderers. Blair is Brenda, vivacious leader of the "Satins," a fun-loving group of pretty high school girls. The Satins are in for trouble from the first moment they play a harmless trick on the "Scars" -- a vicious gang who run loose on the Hollywood streets. The scars and the malevolent leader Jake take their revenge seriously -- first with Brenda's deaf-mute sister, then her soon-to-be-married best friend. Caught up in her rivalry with the cheerleaders, Brenda is at first unaware of the Scar's involvement, but is soon shocked with the full truth. Shock...hatred...and then a deadly vengeance in a skintight black suit, as Brenda searches out the gang members one by one. (Verleiher-Text)

If this film has even a little to do with reality, growing up in America in the 80s must have been hell :-D. Savage Streets is unintentionally funny, a trashy rape-revenge exploitation flick that shows exactly what I don’t like about 80s cinema. It has something to do more with, for example, the aesthetics of the characters than with the storytelling, but I can't help myself. Awful. Three stars because it looks really funny today.

Heute ist es natürlich lächerlich, naiv, aber großartig, das B-Movie zum Thema Vergewaltigung und Rache. Dieser klassische Vertreter des Ausbeutungs-Subgenres hat zwei ungekrönte Horror-Königinnen aus der Schule und den schmutzigen Straßen zusammengebracht: die bereits berühmte Linda Blair und die aufstrebende Linnea Quigley (hier noch ohne chirurgischen Eingriff). Die Gewalt ist mild und nicht viel davon, denn die erwartete Rache kommt erst im letzten Drittel, aber die Kompensation liegt woanders - in der Nacktheit. Savage Streets ist nämlich reich an rosa Nippeln, weißen Hintern und schwarzen Bibern. Und dazu gibt es den Pop-Rock-Soundtrack der Achtziger.
