A surly waitress and an introverted pastry cook meet at the restaurant where they both work. The waitress persuades the man to give her a ride home. In the torrential rain, they accidentally run over a female hitch hiker. The waitress finds that the sight of blood on the dead girl's body turns her on and she makes violent love to the man. Nichts, was mich vom Hocker hauen würde. Im Grunde geht es nur darum, wie ein junges Paar ihr sonst langweiliges Sexualleben aufpeppt. Also bringen sie das Mädchen um, räumen die Leiche auf und haben dann Sex. Es folgt ein weiteres Opfer, Aufräumen und wieder Sex. Dann ein weiterer Mord, nach dem sie nicht einmal aufräumen, Hauptsache sie treiben es. Und dann ist es vorbei, in dem der Hauptdarsteller einen Bruch erleidet und mehrere Frauen gleichzeitig massakriert... aber es sind keine blutigen Schlachthöfe: Es wird ausschließlich mit einem Konditor Messer gemordet, obwohl seine scharfe Klinge gelegentlich auch in intimere Bereiche eindringt. Ach ja, und für ihr widerliches Schmatzen beim Abendessen würde ich ihnen eine glückliche Präparation gönnen.

Existential wandering among dehumanized concrete monuments with a dessert knife in your pants. It is this inaccessibility and coldness of the new Japan, revived by cold metabolic buildings, that creates the backdrop for the simple story of a man who is simply unable to find the satisfaction he needs in the new world, even in basic existence. Like the seminal architectural structures of the period, the protagonist here reflects the uncertainty of his purpose in the new society, his fear of transformation, and his sense of having grown old before discovering his place in space. He thus achieves fulfillment through the animalistic extremes of the ruins of the old world, whether it be a deadly accident in a junkyard, a murder in a demolished bowling arena, or gastro/intercourse on the graves of soldiers. A panicked response to the fear of the too-rapidly changing Japan of the 60s and 70s.

If the Japanese weren't so scared and this was actually explicit in the eroticism, I'd probably give it a better review, but on the other hand, the fact that we only see moderated nudity has something to it, especially considering the violence that takes place. The film is a good example of getting inside the head of a madman.
