“Anything can happen in the mountains,” says one of the characters of Jakub Machala’s romantic debut feature, and the following 90 minutes prove it right. A slightly hackneyed subject of a chaotic wedding day is compensated with a fast pace and formal originality. (Summer Film School)

Man will ja alles genießen, was die Slowakei bietet. ()

Englisch A drinking bender gone slightly wrong, or a narrative from multiple perspectives we have seen elsewhere, but I am glad that the Czechs and Slovaks took up these themes and made a nice romantic comedy with a likeable cast and nice locations that did without faecal and sexist humour. The characters aren't downright stupid (unless the script demands it), and the bonus is the theme song, which you can hear in the trailer. Better three stars! PS: I could almost hear the buttons on Richard Stanke's shirt screaming during the screening. ()

Englisch Despite the film's rating and my negative expectations, I gave it a relatively decent number of stars. I believe it was silly, with many clichés and melodramatic scenes (although I expected worse), but surprisingly, I found myself entertained. My overall impression would indeed have been even better if the creators hadn't engaged in completely unnecessary foolishness that, for me, generated a sense of cringeyness (such as the self-proclaimed detective). Showing different perspectives wasn't exactly an original idea, but it added some variety to the film. While I don't particularly care for Natalia Germani and Marek Lambora, Anna Fialová and Csongor Kassai were great. / Lesson learned: From now on, I will carry a tape measure around. What if I happen to come across sandwiches? ()
