Lots of extraordinary episodes, a mass of average ones and also a couple of really bad ones. A pleasant project where a lot of talented and famous names started out, or gained valuable experience. This includes screenwriters, directors and actors. Its main quality lies in the unforgettable presenter with a very strange sense of humor. Pleasant bedtime viewing for adults on Friday evenings. Split Second (5/5) One of the best episodes. Better not to let on anything about it - just let the Crypt Keeper keep you entertained... Lumberjack sushi roll is on the menu.

Eine erfolgreiche, heute schon kultige Serie, die nach den beliebten Comic-Büchern entstanden ist. Ich habe sie schon als Lausbub in den späten Abendstunden im Fernsehen verschlungen. Natürlich waren nicht alle Folgen perfekt, aber der überwiegende Teil von ihnen ist hervorragend. Viele bekannte Namen vor und hinter der Kamera (Robert Zemeckis, Walter Hill, Tobe Hooper, Richard Donner, Tom Hanks oder selbst der große Arnie) sorgten für großartige Unterhaltung, die uns der Sprücheklopfer Cryptkeeper liebevoll servierte. Seine großartige Maske stammt außerdem aus den Händen von Kevin Yagher (der Maskenbildner von Freddy und Chucky).

For horror fans, it is obligatory, for others a pleasant opportunity to briefly and mostly above-average familiarize themselves with the essence of the genre. Naturally, among a large number of episodes, there are also unremarkable pieces, but imaginative stories with often surprising twists and the appropriate atmosphere prevail. The half-hour duration prevents the creation of "cotton stuffing" known from feature films. A great advantage is the chosen light-hearted form, where creators play with genre clichés and viewer expectations in a slightly parodic spirit. Overall impression: 80%.
