Renaissance Pictures wurde im Jahr 1979 von Raimi, Tapert und Campbell gegründet. Evil Dead wurde zum Aushängeschild und der Rest ist Geschichte. Der Kultklassiker wurde zu einer Trilogie, einem Musical und nun auch zu einer Fernsehserie. Später folgten Darkman, Hercules, Xena und Legend of the Seeker. Und selbst wenn man das alles nicht wüsste, würde man unbewusst die Ähnlichkeiten aus diesen Serien aufgreifen. Auf jeden Fall ein Fan. Was also in Evil Dead fehlte, waren eine nackte Lucy, die aus der Asche aufersteht, und Lucy, die aus dem Necronomicon rezitiert, und genau das passiert in der Serie. Endlich.

I was looking forward to a real horror series with a chilling atmosphere and brutal violence. Instead, I got an action comedy full of one-liners and brutal violence. Since I like black humor, I quickly adapted to the new situation and was able to enjoy the ride with Ash and his crew. With the exception of Episode 4, I had a hell of a good time.
