Love, Rosie - Für immer vielleicht

This was a brutal tearjerker. So if you’re sensitive, rest assured that this story will make your eyes wet with tears within the first minute and they won’t be dry until the screen of your TV will have been black for some time, and you’ll only realize that it’s gone to sleep mode thanks to the loud beeping when the TV asks for your attention. However, Love, Rosie is a really pleasant movie with a fateful story of two people who have been trying to find their way to one another. At times, it was a little too much. On the other hand, who says that anything is really impossible in life? The second upside of this movie, except for the movie itself, was the fact that I didn’t know the actors at all, but I was outright ecstatic about them. An amazing romance with a human story that a lot of us have probably met with. (09.03.2015)

P.S. I Love You, also a product of the imagination of Cecelia Ahern, came together a bit better, but this one is definitely not to be missed either. In fact, there's something terribly real about it. You look at certain situations and see yourself, and that's why you can't tear yourself away. You just have to know how it's going to turn out. The cast is nice too, although I like Lily's look better in other films. But that's just a minor flaw in the beauty of an otherwise successful film. Oh, and it comes down to one of the best almost-kisses I've ever seen in a movie... 4 stars. (01.03.2016)

Love, Rosie is an incredibly sweet film, featuring a supremely likeable cast, which on the one hand comes across as incredibly romantic, while on the other hand there is more of a bittersweet tinge, with the viewer (or at least me) anxiously watching the whole time to see how the plot will unfold, and if everything will turn out as it should (or should have). I enjoyed seeing how the two main characters evolved, and where their life paths led them. All in all, a nice film that both puts a smile on your face and brings a tear to your eye. (29.06.2016)

Mit dreizehn, vielleicht mit sechzehn Jahren wäre ich von solch einem Film sicher begeistert gewesen und hätte noch lange von ihm geschwärmt. Ja, das Herz aller Romantiker kann hüpfen, doch mir als Erwachsenem geht es dann schon auf die Nerven, wenn ich zum hundertfünfzigsten Male dasselbe Klischee sehe, wenn die Figuren ständig dieselben Weisheiten verkünden und wenn der Hauptheld/die Hauptheldin eine/n durchgeknallte/n beste/n Freund/in hat. Love, Rosie - Für immer vielleicht hat ein paar hübsche Momente, diese werden aber buchstäblich von absoluten Fehlgriffen des Drehbuchs wegradiert, bei denen mich schockierte, dass so etwas überhaupt möglich ist. Ich weiß nicht, ob die literarische Vorlage an sich so naiv, irreal bis absurd war oder ob die Drehbuchautorin das so für den Film bearbeitet hat. Als ich die Filmografie des Regisseurs betrachtete, brachte mir dies Ernüchterung, Love, Rosie - Für immer vielleicht wird sicher sein bester Streifen sein. Zum Schluss traditionell ein Tropfen Positives - tolle Musik, diese ließ mich sich an die Zeit erinnern, als ich wirklich sechzehn war. (03.05.2015)

Lily Collins is in this movie, which is a plus in my book. The beginning was funny and quirky enough to hook me, but the rest of it didn't quite maintain that excitement on the rewatch. My good mood started to fade the moment it all took a nosedive into a sappy love story, with some truly ridiculous time and space travel that didn't seem to serve any purpose other than to drag the film on for over an hour. I've been out of my teenage years for a while now, so I couldn't relate to all that beating around the bush anymore. The whole thing felt completely unrealistic to me (and if this is someone's reality, then I'd recommend a psychiatrist or a shotgun, whichever they prefer). Instead of enjoying it, the plot started to grate on my nerves. The ending which was straight out of a Rosamund Pilcher novel didn't help it much either. / Lesson learned: This film contains a guide on how to mess up your life in three intense seconds. 3*- (23.06.2022)

At first, it didn't really catch my interest, the unnecessary humor bothered me a bit, but luckily I had enough time to get used to the movie, especially the characters. Great actors were chosen, whom you simply wished would eventually come together and say everything. A nice romance about how sometimes true love just has to stop being missed. (23.02.2015)
