Vikings - Série 6

Staffel 6 schlug eine interessante Richtung ein. Die ersten Episoden waren schwächer, dann wurde es wieder ziemlich ausgeglichen. Die Geschichten aus der Heptarchie wurden durch Kiew ersetzt, seltsamerweise war auch Zeit, nach Island zurückzukehren, wir verabschiedeten uns von Lathgertha... Es ist schön, sich vorzustellen, dass dies ewig so weitergehen könnte, Entdeckungsreisen ins Abendland, Grönland, neue Erfahrungen auf der Seidenstraße im Orient. Wir werden sehen, ob die derzeitigen Einschränkungen die geplante Fortsetzung Vikings: Valhalla nicht gefährden. (05.01.2021)

A contrived finale that lacks the sophistication of the first season, the suspense of the middle ones, and any invention, or perhaps at least the visual satisfaction that the end of this saga would deserve. It's not a total disaster, it has its good moments, but they are few and far between, and it's more about sentiment and respect for the material than quality. (16.01.2021)

The 6th season was more interesting than the 5th thanks to the discovery of the Rus, but that's about it. The series is just treading water now. You have to wait nine episodes for one battle, all the interesting characters are gone and only the annoying ones remain. The biggest paradox to me is that the least interesting character from the entire series is the only one who has survived. I wasn't bored, but I was watching more out of principle. Visually, it doesn't compare at all to the first season. 6/10. (05.01.2021)
