Streng geheime Premieren

Frič was one of the great stars of our film industry, and it was not difficult for him to engage the most popular and best actors of his time. Although the screenplay is decent (at least from the perspective of current Czech production), what sets Strictly Secret Premieres apart is precisely the cast and the performances delivered by the actors. For Sovák and Bohdalová + the final idea with the tank, I have to give four stars. Overall impression is 70%. (18.07.2008)

It may not be the hard life of an adventurer, but at times Strictly Secret Premieres can be reminiscent of Mac Frič's more interesting and better films. Frič did not have it easy after The Poacher's Foster Daughter or Noble Millionaire and his work in the 1950s and 1960s was a real roller coaster ride. In any case, it is not clear to me what Bohdalová combined with Sovák did to charm him. From a different point of view, what is truly remarkable about the Strictly Secret Premieres is how generous and varied the costumes were. (06.04.2011)

Ich hätte es gut gefunden, wenn sich die Figur von Jiří Sovák noch mehr gesträubt hätte, wenn sie von Anfang an keine Ahnung gehabt hätte, wozu ihre Ideen dienen, und wenn sie, zumindest für eine Weile, unbewusst der kriminelle Meister gewesen wäre. Trotz dieses Vorbehalts ist Streng geheime Premieren eine sehr gute Komödie mit einer perfekten Regie und einer zuverlässigen Besetzung (Čestmír Řanda ist unglaublich gut). Wenn die Coen-Brüder ein Remake von einem tschechoslowakischen Film drehen wollen würden, dann wäre es wahrscheinlich dieser. (09.04.2015)
