Die beiden Reporter Frank und Huey aus Chicago sollen einem Leserbrief nachgehen. Eine Frau behauptet, in ihrem Motel lebe der Erzengel Michael höchstpersönlich. Tatsächlich treffen die Journalisten auf den Engel Michael, der sich aber keinesfalls wie ein Heiliger benimmt, sondern raucht und trinkt. Klar, dass sie ihn unbedingt nach Chicago in ihre Redaktion bringen wollen. (TNT Film)

Michael is great. He is an Archangel, he is played by John Travolta and he has no qualms about drinking and smoking. He’s a bit ahead of his time, because in 1996 it wasn’t yet fashionable to create counter-current characters, as a lot of those who tried ended up like those guys in Trainspotting. Anyhow, I must say that’s a really nice movie with a message. And that’s enough, even though my overall rating is three stars. Travolta delivered an ultimate performance, so he really deserves these three stars.
