Nachdem Randolph Smiley, der Star des Kinderfernsehens, vom FBI der Korruption überführt worden ist, entlässt ihn sein Sender fristlos und ersetzt ihn durch den Gutmenschen Mopes, der keiner Fliege etwas zuleide tun könnte. Als Mopes immer erfolgreicher wird, während Randolph obdachlos geworden ist, lässt der einstige Star keine Gelegenheit aus, seinem Nachfolger das Leben zur Hölle zu machen. (TNT Film)

It's weak. There are characters whose development is clear at first sight, there is a story that is overloaded but actually doesn't say much, and ultimately it is quite simple. This is not something that should impress a person, and it certainly won't have any challenging impact on their senses. Even the touching moments don't work here.

Danny DeVito apparently has a very strange sense of humor, and even though he cast Robin Williams and Edward Norton, he didn’t satisfy me enough in order for me to see this movie as a comedy. However, the scene where Smoochy flies in front of the Nazis was fine. It’s a pity, though, that it was filmed in a not very funny way.

This film has to basic flaws: it is about nothing and it is longer than it should be. As a result, excellent scenes are completely lost in lengthy passages when absolutely nothing happens.
