Bei “200 Motels” handelt es sich um einen Musikfilm mit Frank Zappa und The Mothers of Invention, bei welchem Zappa selbst Regie führte und am Drehbuch schrieb. Einen Plot als solchen sucht man vergebens, da es sich vielmehr um eine Aneinanderreihung von Vignetten und Auftritten handelt. (Verleiher-Text)

This is a movie that completely went over my head. I don't know if I didn't understand it, I simply didn't want to, or maybe there was nothing to understand about it, but visually it seemed terrible to me, what it portrayed was boring, and what surprised me the most was the fact that even the musical numbers didn't really interest me. Overall, I simply didn't like it and it disgusted me.
