Bei “200 Motels” handelt es sich um einen Musikfilm mit Frank Zappa und The Mothers of Invention, bei welchem Zappa selbst Regie führte und am Drehbuch schrieb. Einen Plot als solchen sucht man vergebens, da es sich vielmehr um eine Aneinanderreihung von Vignetten und Auftritten handelt. (Verleiher-Text)

This is a movie that went completely over my head. I don't know if I didn't understand it, or if I just didn't want to, or maybe there wasn't even anything to understand about it, but visually, it seemed terrible to me. What it depicted was boring, and what surprised me the most was the fact that even the musical numbers didn't offer anything that truly interested me. Overall, I just didn't like it and found it annoying.
