Piglet Babe (in the form of the sow of all sows) is once again going to the city, in other words, it´s social-corporate criticism through the genre megamix with grinning stars accompanied by the Balkan brass band. By all logic, it shouldn't work, but Joon-ho Bong has proven several times that he can prevent inconsistency from becoming excessive. Although it naturally has a lot of "but", the result is always at least interesting and in the best cases, to which Okja also belongs, even excellent.

Ein nächster einzigartiger Film von Bong Joon-ho. Wieder eine hundertprozentig eindrucksvolle Kombination von mehreren Genres, die aber nicht überladen wirkt, weil sie einfach ausgezeichnet aufgenommen und dargestellt ist. Ein niedliches Kinderabenteuer ist nur einen kleinen Schritt von einem Actionfilm entfernt; von einer Groteske zu der unbarmherzigsten Kritik des Umgangs mit Tieren. Erschütternd. Eine Agitation? Na und? Ich bin froh, dass jemand den Mut hatte, darauf hinzuweisen. So wie die letzte halbe Stunde von diesem Film hat mir einst die Erzählung "Schwein" von Roald Dahl den Atem verschlagen – unvergesslich wie Okja.

The weakest and least stimulating film by Bong Joon-ho I’ve seen so far. The balance between serious environmental argument and a bizarre comedy with a confused Gyllenhaal and a lisping Tilda Swinton didn’t feel that sophisticated and, despite the fact that this is another film with a strong author’s signature, I have to turn my thumb slightly down this time. What amused me the most was the grotesque action scene accompanied by my beloved Annie's Song by John Denver. The pig was also cute, but I couldn’t avoid thinking what a great Sunday’s roast it would make. :/ 65%

Ein besonderer Film, der nur in fremdsprachigen Versionen auf Netflix erscheint. Grausam, rührend, unerbittlich. Ein spezifischer Blick auf die Welt des Geschäfts im Kontrast zum Schutz der Natur, der Tiere und im Kontrast zur Ökologie. Okja war niedlich, genauso wie Mija, die sich unter allen Umständen für sie einsetzte. Tilda Swinton glänzte in einer ziemlich abstoßenden Doppelrolle. Meine Favoriten waren natürlich Paul Dano im Anzug und Lily Collins mit roten Haaren. Schöne drei Sterne.
