Kein Wunder, denn der "Artists and Repertoire"-Manager eines Londoner Musiklabels kokst so ziemlich jeden Tag und steigert sich in hedonistische Allmachtsphantasien. Mit seinen Entscheidungen bestimmt er über Musikerschicksale. Liegt er richtig, bekommt auch er einen kräftigen Schub auf der Karriereleiter, irrt er sich, kann es aber auch schnell das Aus bedeuten. Um die harte firmeninterne Konkurrenz auszustechen, spinnt Stelfox miese Intrigen und schreckt sogar vor Mord nicht zurück.... (Ascot Elite Filmv.)

I'd hate for anyone to think I have anything against movies where there's constant drinking, snorting, fucking, swearing, and the occasional surprisingly brutal bleeding, but with this one I couldn't shake the feeling that I was listening to a nineteen-year-old McDonald's manager telling stories after his second beer that would put Hunter S. Thompson to shame. In short, you don't believe him and are gradually driven to apathy by all these extremes. The main problem, of course, is not that none of it is true (after all, that should never get in the way of a good story), the problem is that his entire life story is not well told. He doesn't have short subplots to keep you entertained while you're watching him, and he doesn't have the charisma to keep your mind from wandering back to that pretty waitress.
