I would completely disregard the rest of reviews here. It was probably written by a bunch of people who were not in the mood for a comedy at a time when they watched a comedy. The Blockers is awesome. Sure, they are politically incorrect already by its premise. Who of the recently legal aged would want to have parents who spy on them at prom and try to prevent them from having sex? And once they learn about it, what child would still talk to them? Sure, I admit, all of that is messed up…but the rest? It’s just hilarious. And I hope John Cena will land more roles like that. I’ve really seen in him that kind of comedy action hero of the present time that I miss so damn much after Arnold Schwarzenegger. (14.07.2018)

A trio of desperate parents have just discovered that their daughters want to try sex at the prom in addition to alcohol and light drugs. And they must stop them at all costs. In the end, however, they may find out that the problem is not their children, but themselves... Blockers is a hilarious comedy that functionally alternates humorous scenes with more serious and mature ones. Fortunately, the humour prevails and if it weren't for a few unnecessarily overdone scenes, it could have been even better. Still, it's surprisingly very enjoyable. (26.07.2018)

Nobody expected this comedy to be a success, but the first positive reactions made an impression and it's actually a very nice teen flick, where instead of boys, girls want to have their first fling and their parents will definitely not be happy about it. The best thing is John Cena, who is on a very slow but direct climb to stardom and I wouldn't be surprised if he's competition for The Rock in a few years. There are quite a few funny situations, especially in the second half – the first one lags a bit. But I'll give 4 stars with pleasure. 75%. (28.06.2018)

Die Qualität des Films entspricht der Qualität des tschechischen Filmtitels – ein billiges und nicht sehr einfallsreiches Spektakel, manchmal lustig, aber mit nur sehr wenigen guten Gags. Und selbstverständlich fehlen auch Körperflüssigkeiten nicht. Ich habe mir den Film wegen Geraldine Viswanathan angesehen, die großartig ist (und ich hoffe, Marvel rechnet mit ihr für die Rolle der Kamala Khan, falls es jemals dazu kommt) und die viele für ihr komödiantisches Talent beneiden können, aber ich war auch von Gideon Adlon angenehm überrascht. Was die Besetzung mit erwachsenen Schauspieler betrifft, war Leslie Mann eine sichere Wahl, weil er sogar einen schlechten Witz zauberhaft rüberbringen kann, aber sonst hat mich niemand weiteres interessiert – außer vielleicht noch John Cena, an dem interessant ist, dass es offenbar ihn selbst und niemanden sonst nicht im geringsten stört, dass er absolut kein Schauspieltalent hat. It wasn't nearly as bad as my rating makes it look. I did have some good laughs and enjoyed the film. The problem was that my good mood was ruined every now and then by cringeworthy moments and failed attempts at jokes. If it weren't for that, it would have been worth four stars. I don’t think this is your standard teen comedy, the half-crazy parents give it a whole new level. I had fun watching - 3*+. (03.09.2018)

A standard American crude comedy about adolescence and the problems that go with the territory. Except for a few over-the-top scenes, it's surprisingly hilarious and will serve perfectly as a relaxing evening movie. In the end it is not just the young ones but also the adult characters who learn a lesson about themselves. So, as for me, definitely a thumbs up. By the way, though he obviously can't compare with the unrivaled Arnold, John Cena was a perfect choice for the role of a dim-witted muscleman. (12.11.2018)
