Nutzerkritik Necrotongue zur diesen Serie (32)

Episode 1 (2020) (S03E01)

Englisch I'd typically lean towards a three-star rating for the first episode of a season. However, I ended up adding an extra star because the flawless atmosphere of the late twenties instantly drew me into the narrative. ()

Episode 2 (2020) (S03E02)

Englisch The second episode continued to nail the period atmosphere. This time around, the essential plot lines started to emerge more clearly, and I was pleasantly surprised to see Greta taking center stage. While she didn't capture my interest much in the previous season, it appears that she will now be embroiled in political machinations, adding an intriguing dimension to the story. ()

Episode 3 (2020) (S03E03)

Englisch The climax of the third episode came too soon, but it was surprisingly enjoyable. The financial survey segment was brilliant. But the overall plot of the episode was just as captivating, such as the reintroduction of the Lufthansa storyline, previously touched upon in the second season. ()

Episode 4 (2020) (S03E04)

Englisch What a weird episode. It seemed like a lot was unfolding, yet as the end credits rolled, I realized that very little of consequence had actually happened, apart from the mandatory homosexual subplot, that is. ()

Episode 5 (2020) (S03E05)

Englisch Despite my overall enjoyment of the series, I couldn't bring myself to rate this episode any higher. The bizarre ritual at the beginning dragged on unbearably long, though I suppose viewers who appreciated the transparency of each garment might have found it captivating. However, the remainder of the plot was nothing short of excruciatingly dull. It pains me to say it, but this episode was a total flop. ()

Episode 6 (2020) (S03E06)

Englisch The previous episode was teetering on disaster, but suddenly the creators had a revelation and delivered an atmospheric, lively, and entertaining episode that effortlessly held my attention. With a mix of investigation, politics, and manipulation, the unexpected star of the show turned out to be Frau Behnke, showcasing a hidden talent that would even make Jason Bourne envious. ()

Episode 7 (2020) (S03E07)

Englisch From the moment I found out what Nyssen does (currently in the manic phase), I had a feeling the episode would be a hit. And indeed, I found myself thoroughly enjoying the spectacle of powerful manipulation, scheming, and political intrigue — until we ventured into the film studios. It felt like this segment was tailored for a completely different audience. Perhaps it would appeal to naive soap opera aficionados, as it seemed to lack both logic and coherence. 4*- ()

Episode 8 (2020) (S03E08)

Englisch The eighth episode solidified my view that the political and economic storyline is the most captivating aspect for me. As the creators began delving into the personal lives of individual characters, my interest started to wane. It's surprising — before this season, I never would've guessed that besides Wendt, Alfred Nyssen would emerge as the most intriguing character for me. ()

Episode 9 (2020) (S03E09)

Englisch Once again, the creators have delved into the personal lives of the characters, something I typically enjoy in other shows, but here it just irks me. It feels like every time they do, the episodes lose their momentum and atmosphere. I could've easily done without the whole celebration of Gräf's birthday, for instance. 3*- ()

Episode 10 (2020) (S03E10)

Englisch The tenth episode had me hooked right from the start — not just for its brisk pace, but also for its intriguing plot. It was refreshing to see both politics and financial scheming back in the mix, and I found the combination quite engaging. Though, I have to admit, I'm not too thrilled about Leopold Ulrich. His character feels a tad too reminiscent of Gotham's Nygma for my liking. ()

Episode 11 (2020) (S03E11)

Englisch In my previous comment, I sneered at Ulrich, but after the episode essentially dedicated to him, I must confess, I quite enjoyed it. Though, I wouldn't recommend this episode to health nuts — the sugar-filled scenes might just induce some serious psychological trauma for them. ()

Episode 12 (2020) (S03E12)

Englisch The first half had me hooked — plot unfolding at a solid pace, though the race against time trope got on my nerves (a typical trope, right?). But the unexpected outcome left me pleasantly surprised. However, the second half lost its momentum, events turning dull, with the financial crisis being the only saving grace. Here's hoping for a fourth season with a killer atmosphere. ()
