Englisch Probably the first sci-fi sitcom I’ve come across. And that’s why I watched it from the beginning to the end. The Good Place is a total chill-out. In addition, it helped my fill the gap where no good new sitcoms are produced, and the TV constantly play reruns of the classics, that is Friends, HIMYM and The Big Bang Theory. In addition, these are still the most watched afternoon shows, which probably says something about their quality. But The Good Place has a chance to reach similar level. It is not possible to offer as much content, as it only has four series in total, but on the other hand it confirms the rule that less is sometimes more. I had a great time and even though some episodes are weaker, in the overall context of the fact that something is happening in each episode, pushingthe story forward, even if sometimes it’s with crazy plot twists, The Good Place is a good series for chill-out, which you might even find yourself binge-watching for a whole evening. Englisch Although it wasn't love at first sight, the unusual concept slowly grew on me, and after a few nice episodes, some character quirks and bugs in the main cast stopped bothering me and it all worked. The whole afterlife setting has one huge advantage. Eleanor and the gang venture into uncharted territory within the sitcom waters, developing mysterious plots and authentic cliffhangers that aren't just about relationships, contrary to genre conventions. I honestly don't know if I've ever experienced this with a comedy before, returning to it at least initially not because of the style of humor or good mood, but out of curiosity about where the whole universe of good and bad places will delve into this time. And these excursions in later seasons are the most surprisingly rich treasury of clever humor. The brilliantly repeated jokes (butchering Chidi's last name, Tahani and her acquaintances, or ANYTHING that comes out of the irresistible Janet in any form) are a very sweet cherry on top. Jason's constant hardness is what mostly holds back my complete enthusiasm. That type of humor doesn't quite fit into the otherwise increasingly precise mosaic. However, it is a very clever ride that knows how to deliver the most essential comedic trick: to induce tears both of laughter and emotion. ()
