33 years after the infamous Rendlesham Forest UFO incident, three metal detector enthusiasts hunting for Saxon gold in the same region, capture incredible footage of UFO's whilst filming their expedition. As nightfalls and with their navigation equipment failing, they find themselves facing a terrifying encounter with an unforgiving alien presence. (IFC Midnight)

Im Grunde genommen genau dasselbe wie "Blair Witch Project", nur mit Lichtern. Also haben wir einen Wald und drei Figuren, die sich darin verirren. Nachts hören sie seltsame Geräusche, sehen nicht identifizierbare fliegende Lichter, und wenn die nicht ganz klassischen Wolken ihr bedrohliches Geheimnis enthüllen, wird klar, dass es diesmal nicht um eine Hexe geht, sondern um einen Besuch aus dem Weltraum. Nachdem ihre Partner verschwunden sind, werden die Helden versuchen, sie innerhalb dieser verdächtigen Basis zu finden... Dort wird es zwar etwas Spannung und fliegende Schiffe im schwachen CGI-Finale geben, angesichts der Laufzeit ist es jedoch leider zu spät.

Found footage is a genre that is completely burnt out, but certainly not dead. And not even in Great Britain. Unfortunately, I expected that on the islands they would be a bit more original and try to make a found footage that stands out in some way. They completely disregarded that and filmed an uninnovative shaky thing that thinks it will scare viewers with the exact same shots that are so typical for the genre. Clearly, innovation hurts, so the found footage genre avoids it like the plague. It's questionable whether invention is even possible.
