Englisch Czech cinema cannot complain about not having attractive themes. In fact, Czech audiences will rightfully feel that Czech films repeatedly devalue these attractive subjects with their approach. The story of Radovan Krejčíř has occupied the media, as well as the police, the justice system, and political representation, for many years. His name has become known even on an international scale, where it has become a symbol of corruption and organized crime in South Africa. His case could have made a great action movie - if it hadn't occurred in the Czech Republic. If someone has the skill and talent, they can make something like Mesrine: Killer Instinct, which, even though you know about Mesrine's life experiences, works excellently as a thriller and representative of the adventure genre, which also says a lot about the time and French society. If a Czech filmmaker and Czech production company take on this challenge, a film will be created that has less tension than an average newspaper article. Gangster Ka simply does not work as a genre film, it does not evoke emotions, and it is simply boring. Having a narrator was a complete mistake, and the direction is unexcitingly routine. No, I won't even give it two stars. It's a waste of time that perfectly illustrates the state of Czech cinema. Overall impression: 25%. ()

Englisch A bit too much comedy and not enough gangsta. An incoherent mix with a good production design, set in exotic locations, but nothing great. ()

Englisch When the closing credits started rolling in the movie theater, I said to myself that The African came out better than the first movie, which had introduced me to the story of the padrino Kraviec. What was mainly better was that the director Jan Pachl convinced me for good that a Czech movie can be made on a reasonable budget in such a way that you will be happy to mistake it for the work of some important European cinematography. You see, most of the movie takes place either in South Africa or in the Seychelles, which of itself looks ultimately great and I must say that the filters mentioned below on this site, which were used to support the atmosphere, were totally OK with me. I liked them. As far as the actors are concerned, they are putting in great performances, same as they did in the first part. The problem is that you need to have seen the first part in order to understand the context and why some characters do what they do. On the other hand, I don’t understand why somebody would want to watch this movie first and then try to catch up with the first part, so this argument uttered by a movie critic sounded a bit ridiculous to me. In general, I don’t believe this movie deserves negative criticism because essentially there is very little to criticize about it. The director made quite a professional entree into Czech cinematography and I thank him for that. I hope the movie will get more support and that it will be taken to various film festivals all around the world. The movie would definitely deserve it. ()

Englisch It is just a little weaker than the first movie, but mainly because it is not as action-packed and there are not as many intense scenes. There are scenes that are really worth laughing at because they are funny, but once again, the scenes that weigh on you and make you realize that justice is actually unattainable, that bitch is exactly as blind as they say, and even more so, predominate. The empty ending is disappointing. ()
