Mit 18 Jahren ziehen Anthony Curtis und seine Freunde in den Vietnamkrieg. Als Anthony nach vier Jahren endlich wieder nach Hause kommt, erwartet ihn weder Ruhm noch Ehre oder die Aussicht auf einen guten Job, um seine Frau und seine Tochter ernähren zu können.
