Orange Is the New Black

The fifth episode was not perfect, but compared to the second and third parts, it clearly wins. The competition in the lesbian trophy hunt was not bad, but I enjoyed the charades in the visitor's room the most, that was a great twist. I also really enjoyed how during the racial clashes, the Caucasians stood completely outside of all the events. That was a nice change. (21.04.2019)

Despite not being a big romantic, I really enjoyed Valentine's Day in the Litchfield correctional facility. It wasn't a boring episode at all, there were a lot of interesting things happening here. Originally, I rated the episode with four stars, but then I decided to add a fifth for the final scene in the bar. Caputo's expression said it all. (22.04.2019)

In the seventh episode, although there was less humor compared to the previous part, the creators made up for this small lack with a quality dramatic plot. I enjoyed how all the relationships in the prison became more intense, it really tempted me to watch the next continuation. I would just like it if the whiny Larry disappeared inconspicuously from the further story. (22.04.2019)

So I was looking forward to the previous episode in vain, the plot unexpectedly calmed down just when I was expecting a greater escalation of action and tension, but I actually understand it, there is no rush, after all, the series has thirteen episodes. Based on my experiences with other series, I have to be satisfied that it was not just boring filler, so I rate it 3*+. (22.04.2019)

The creators devoted the ninth episode to one really dramatic return and thanks to Cal and Neri also to one epic farewell. Despite the necessary presence of whiny Larry, I had a pretty good time on the racetrack with Piper, but mainly the events in the prison started moving again, so I was satisfied. 4*+ (22.04.2019)

My rating may be lower than the episode deserves, originally I wanted to rate it four stars because I enjoyed the plot, the story had a decent pace, and the atmosphere wasn't bad either, it's just that I was unpleasantly disappointed by the ending. I had a feeling that a lot was happening in the episode, but in fact, nothing really important happened. The difference between the prison scenes and those from everyday life is huge for me. What I mean is that I have no interest in what is happening outside, especially when it involves the whining Larry. It would take a well-timed car accident, I bet Pete would agree with me. I enjoyed the twelfth episode just a little bit more than the previous one, however, I felt that the plot was somewhat slowed down. It can be assumed that the creators were saving their energy for a strong season finale. I don't want to say that I was bored, I just know that I could have expected a much better outcome. 3*+. The final episode of the second season somehow got out of the creators' hands with its length, as it turned out to be as long as two regular episodes. However, I was not bored, the plot was quite eventful, and when there was only speaking, it was relevant to the story. Regarding humor, Caputo took care of it, his second day in the new position really got me, and the expressions he used whenever something surprised him reminded me of Willie E. Coyote. 5*. In Season 3, the series has lost some of its drive, which is a shame. On the other hand, I liked that Piper was no longer central to the story and there was room for the development of other characters. I especially like Joe Caputo whose life resembles a roller coaster. The series is still one that I really enjoy, and I look forward to the fourth season. (15.09.2016)

The third season didn't start off particularly well for me, the opening episode was the first one where I was bored in some parts. Not much happened here, of course, a character returned, whose return was clear in advance, and the mothers had their celebration. I didn't even have anything to laugh about, a few scenes did bring a fleeting smile to my face, but that's really not much. (24.04.2019)

It wasn't a standing ovation, but there was still some improvement. The bedbugs were clearly a good idea because the creators were able to push the plot to a slight absurdity that I quite enjoyed. Although I found some humor, the drama is not going well for the screenwriters this time, so I might have to reconsider my previous opinion of the main antagonist from last season. (24.04.2019)

Joe Caputo and his clever plan at least partially saved the third episode for me. Otherwise, it wasn't another amazing experience, I don't know why the first half of each season is so painfully slow. I do appreciate that I didn't see Larry whining for the third time, but on the other hand, I apparently missed out on my favorite character, the voice and accent of Natasha Lyonne positively affected my exhausted nerves. Oh well, the third season isn't going well so far. This was already the second episode that I found quite boring because once again, nothing was happening. Sure, there were plenty of "interesting" conversations, but I didn't experience any humor or drama, it was more like dull cotton. (24.04.2019)

I didn't even expect any quality dramatic lines in this case, fortunately, there was at least some humor so I could laugh at the attempt to prevent squirrels from getting drunk, Redin's attempt to return to her original workplace, and Alex's paranoid moods. (24.04.2019)

Well, I didn't see any improvement even with the second half of the season. If it weren't for Mei Chang's storyline, I don't know if my rating would go above two stars. The plot of the third season seems to be heavily slowed down, humor occurs quite sporadically, and the dramatic storyline is almost non-existent. (26.04.2019)

Finally, in the third row, I got to watch an episode where boredom didn't try to touch me. The creators once again saved a good dramatic storyline, but they made up for it with a more nourishing dose of humor. I enjoyed the new business venture as well as Suzanne's literary debut. However, it was Joe Caputo and his new "recruits" who made me laugh the most. (26.04.2019)

The eighth episode continued in the same vein as the previous one, although it is true that the humor was slightly reduced this time, so I deducted half a star. It's a shame that part of the plot was again slightly uninteresting, because it marred the more successful aspects (the MCC management meeting, Tiffany's outings with Coates, Suzanne's literary success). 3* (26.04.2019)

I have the impression that the third season reached its peak with the seventh episode, and now the quality is decreasing again with each subsequent episode. Hopefully, I am mistaken and there will be further improvement, but this time nothing special happened and the story deserves some revitalization, otherwise my rating will drop again. (26.04.2019)

I have decided to add half a star to my rating, despite my concerns, as there was a slight improvement in the tenth episode. The creators once again managed to slightly increase the humor, but more importantly, I noticed several flashes that could indicate the possibility of solid drama. 3*+ (26.04.2019)
