The Canyons

Ein Thriller, der sich offensichtlich bei Klassikern des Genres inspirierte, der aber schlussendlich wie eine Nachahmung wirkt. Es hat mich etwas geschockt, als ich mir im Geiste sagte, es sei etwas so wie B. E. Ellis zu kopieren, und nun stelle ich fest, dass das Drehbuch von ihm stammt. Man könnte den Film anschauen, wenn er mit erotischen Szenen und dem Busen von Lindsay Lohen durchsetzt wäre, aber es handelt sich um einen ganz alltäglichen Thriller, von denen man in einer besseren oder schlechteren Besetzung Tausende sehen kann. Es beunruhigt mich, dass es mir scheint, dass die beste Leistung von allen Beteiligten der Pornodarsteller Deen erbracht hat. (02.10.2016)

A film in which a well-known porn actor appears in the main role, moreover, a film by a person who has some interesting films to his credit (remake of "Cats People") and also contributed to even more interesting ones ("Raging Bull" or "Taxi Driver") script-wise. It sounds a bit dangerous, but it turns out that hiring a porn actor may not be a problem at all. The problem lies with other people, who call themselves actors, and eventually also with the script, which pretends to be a big, suspenseful thriller, although the tension is created only by music and the presence of some violence. Everything is mostly off-screen. Lindsay shows her breasts, but everyone is probably used to that by now. (14.01.2014)
