Even on a rewatch, the second season made a great impression on me thanks to a well-written story (though extremely challenging to execute in real life), fantastic atmosphere, suspense, and the casting of the two leads. This is how you make a crime series. / Lesson learned: Don't trust, verify.

I found the second series to be a bit better in the sense that you already know the characters and are quite curious to see how their fates will play out. Honestly, the overall story is pretty good too, and I liked the reveal of who's behind it all a little more than in the first series. It has to be said, though, that I don't like how the finale played out, even though I have to admit it's a pretty big blow. It's almost a shame that the series is continuing.
