An Evening of Edgar Allan Poe ist praktisch von Anfang bis Ende nur auf der Stimme, dem Aussehen und dem Charisma von Vincent Price aufgebaut, der vier ausgewählte Geschichten des amerikanischen Meisters des Horrors rezitiert. Hier gibt es nichts weiter. Price ist einfach für das Genre des gotischen Horrors geboren und ich kann mir keinen perfekteren Rezitator von Poes Werken vorstellen.

The film An Evening of Edgar Allan Poe isn't about being a horror that scares you, but rather about showcasing the mastery of a great actor who can captivate you with his performance. Vincent Price is simply a legend, and I'm glad I came across this film because it proves that he is so strong that he can carry an entire hour all by himself, and you'll walk away with an interesting and unique experience. He must have been amazing in the theater. Too bad the film isn't longer.
