Am Broadway der 20er Jahre haben Lust und Laster das Sagen, und so beschließt Gangsterboss Valenti, seiner Freundin Olive eine Theaterrolle zu beschaffen. Da die Kleine jedoch wenig Talent besitzt, Valenti aber viel Geld, produziert er kurzerhand das Stück des Nachwuchsautoren Shayne. Bedingung: Olive muß einen tragenden Part darin spielen. Als sich der Bodyguard der Dame als der bessere Autor erweist, kommt es auf der zwischenmenschlichen Ebene zu allerlei Turbulenzen. (Laser Paradies)
