Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Falls Sie ein Kind oder ein kindischer Mensch sind, der mit den Ninja Turtles groß geworden ist, werden Sie mit diesem Film kein großes Problem haben. Ich persönlich habe die Ninja Turtles nie irgendwie übertrieben gemocht (als Kind hatte ich natürlich eine Schildkrötenfigur und ich habe mir auch die Serie angeschaut). Das Versprechen eines Films zum Abschalten klang aber verlockend. Ich habe gehofft, dass der Film unterhaltsam und visuell schön sein wird. Mein Wunsch ging in Erfüllung – vor allem dank der schnellen Actionszenen und der sympathischen Megan Fox (sie spielt viel natürlicher als in Transformers). Humor war aber leider keiner da – und wenn, dann für Zuschauer*innen, die zwanzig und mehr Jahre jünger sind. Die Ninja Turtles haben die Trickmacher von ILM gut gemacht. Sie wirken so glaubhaft, wie es bei zwei Meter großen humanoiden Reptilien nur geht. Bei Splinter ist das Ergebnis schlimmer geworden. Es ist auch schade, dass der sehr gute Soundtrack von Brian Tyler eher im Hintergrund geblieben ist, z. B. beim Kampf von Splinter und Shredder. Da hat man eine der besten Kompositionen des Albums nur aus der Ferne gehört. Außerdem wurde sie durch Toneffekte übertönt. (25.08.2014)

It made no sense and the creators obviously didn’t even try. Even so, better than I expected, and the turtles rock, especially in the action scenes. The ride on the snowy hill and the finale with the Shredder were tops. And Tyler’s music blares beautifully in the background. The main theme is very well handled again. Megan Fox is a bit weird as April - even though the role was obviously written for her. At least she’s not as annoying (maybe that was the dubbing). The turtles are, like, really fine. Both in terms of casting and visually, I don’t understand the mean comments regarding their appearance. I was most disappointed by the change of origin of Master Splinter, much more could have been made of this. I hope that the next part falls to a different crew and they eliminate the flaws. And we wanted to use rabbits. (24.08.2014)

From a smooth start, there was enjoyable entertainment, action scenes with appealing visuals that either left me breathless or silently cheering. And in the end, the widest smile. Leo, Mikey, Don, and Raph may resemble their counterparts from twenty years ago less and less, but thanks to the turtles' witty dialogue machine and the well-cast Will Arnett, it is easily forgiven. The real pity is the altered origin of Splinter and Shredder and the related plot questions and absence of their mutual rivalry. Because who knows how high the final rating would then be climbing. I was expecting it to be a bit more fun than it actually was. Unfortunately, that didn't happen and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" turned out to be just a popcorn entertainment that focuses too much on Megan Fox. However, she can't be watched for too long, so I'm glad that at least the turtles turned out well. They look good, have personalities, but they are stuck in a boring story that doesn't have any surprises. (28.08.2014)
