Zwölf hochbegabte Männer und Frauen wurden als Mitglieder der Phaeton-Mission ausgewählt, bei der sie eine zehn Jahre dauernde Expedition zu einem weit entfernten Planetensystem unternehmen sollen. Um den Stress einer solchen Reise erträglicher zu machen, verbringt die Crew einen Großteil der Zeit in einer virtuellen Realität, in der sie unterschiedliche Identitäten annehmen können. Reality shows are a concept that gives me goosebumps whenever I see it. Not only that there’s too much of them, but also I’m just incredibly sick of it. And what am I supposed to think when the creators try to combine something like that with sci-fi like in Virtuality. I actually managed to finish this movie only because it’s sci-fi. I haven’t watched any space sci-fi in a long time. And I have to say, I was pissed just by the way it was filmed. Well, what else did I expect?

This sci-fi didn't really catch my attention, starting with the concept that didn't really interest me. Virtual reality is something that I don't find very appealing in movies. It's too easy to turn everything into something else in it. This was evident here, and I didn't really like the overall tone of the film. Similarly, the scenes of virtual reality itself didn't impress me either.
