In 1995 a four-man team from the cable-access program Fact or Fiction braved the desolate New Jersey Pine Barrens determined to deliver a live broadcast of legendary monster, the Jersey Devil. Only one came out alive. The lone survivor was sentenced to life in prison, but filmmaker David Leigh is convinced that he's innocent. Could the Jersey Devil still haunt the barrens? (101 Films)

Eine absolut langweilige Dokumentarstory wie aus dem CNN-Kanal herausgeschnitten. Abgesehen von einigen wenigen gefundenen Aufzeichnungen besteht der Film hauptsächlich aus Aussagen von Gerichtsbeamten, Nachrichten und Analysen von Computertechnikern, die die beschädigten Bänder untersucht haben. Aber es ist einfach nur langweilig und der vermeintlich schockierende Schluss kann es definitiv nicht retten. Erwähnenswert ist nur die Tatsache, dass dieses Projekt ein Jahr jünger ist als die kultige Blair Witch Mystery, die natürlich von ganz anderer Qualität ist.

"The Last Broadcast" is a film that, for me, is significantly better than "The Blair Witch Project" and it is exactly the type of film that I imagine under the genre of mockumentary. The documentary approach is maintained to the maximum and formed in a way that closely resembles the genre. Of course, you won't believe the film, but as an example of what a mockumentary should look like, it is an excellent piece.
