Chuck und Larry - Wie Feuer und Flamme

Ich schaue immer gern einen ordentlichen Sandler-Film, weil dies für mich ein Garant für gute Unterhaltung ist, auch wenn dieser manchmal mit irgendeinem unappetitlichen Witz durchzogen ist. Als Chuck Larry heiratet, geht es gut los, und dies hält bis zur zweiten Hälfte an, danach verliert sich der Film in Klischees, und er wirkt zu amerikanisch. Trotzdem bleibe ich ein Fan von Adam Sandler, Klick und Die Wutprobe bleiben bei mir immer in der obersten Kategorie. (07.03.2009)

Sandler flicks are always a guarantee of quality and good fun. Although lately I've been feeling like Adam Sandler is always playing the same character, just throwing him into increasingly weird situations. And, of course, he picks counterparts to feast your eyes on (I mean Jessica Biel, not Kevin James ;). This time, he plunged into the gay world and domestic partnership, and turned it into a gentle witty satire on human nature. And I'm always happy to watch that. (16.11.2007)

After the terrible "Jack and Jill," I wanted to cheer myself up, so I watched this movie. I have to say that I was thrilled. This is the Sandler I like. His jokes are offensive, disgusting, he behaves like a jerk, but you still eat it up. Kevin James shows that he is a great partner, but he can handle the whole film by himself. However, Sandler and him fit perfectly and you can see how good friends they are. And when they're not, they can play it great. A pair of firefighters, one's bad social situation, a registered partnership, and a wedding as the only way out. The plot is far-fetched, but there are excellent cameo roles played by classics such as Rob Schneider, Nick Swardson, or David Spade, as well as newer faces in Sandler's movies - Dan Aykroyd, Steve Buscemi, or Ving Rhames. This Sandler rocks, and even though there is no shortage of toilet humor or final moral lessons that are really far-fetched, this is a comedy that I would gladly watch again. In some time. An enjoyable but less classic Sandler flick. Adam Sandler and Kevin James are excellent, but the script perhaps takes itself too seriously towards the end. (20.08.2007)
