Teds neue Freundin Karen wird immer noch nicht von Marshall und Lily akzeptiert. Lily geht sogar so weit, dass sie in Teds Bett einen Ohrring von Robin versteckt, den Karen kurz darauf findet und die Beziehung sofort beendet. Als Lilys Manipulation rauskommt, will sich Karen wieder annähern – doch nur unter der Prämisse, dass Ted den Kontakt zu Lily beendet. Ted entscheidet sich jedoch für seine Freunde und gegen eine Beziehung, die auf zu vielen Kompromissen fußt. (ProSieben)

If someone like Lily Aldrin showed up in my life, they'd be shown the door pretty quickly. I get it's just a TV show (often a crummy one at that), but this time I got really worked up. There are certain phrases that I straight-up hate and two of them push me over the edge: "It's gonna be okay" and "I did it for your own good." Robin's TV appearance was cool, but everything else just got on my nerves. / Lesson learned: There are only a handful of people in the world who can be trusted.
