Profi-Killer Mel und sein Kollege Cisco entführen zusammen Keiko, die Tochter eines japanischen Großindustriellen. Die aber entpuppt sich als Patenkind von Mels Chef Paris, der nun alles in Bewegung setzt, um Keiko zu befreien. In seiner Not schiebt Cisco alles Mel in die Schuhe, aber damit nicht genug: Mels Geliebte Chantel brennt mit seinem Geld durch. Der Killer Mel, der bislang glaubte, er hätte sein Leben im Griff, steht plötzlich vor einem Scherbenhaufen. (Sat.1)

A very funny action comedy in places. There could have been more action moments (like the thrilling opening scene), but you never get bored. Some of the gags are really good and some are downright deadly (for instance, the successful punchline with the diligent video store customer) Of the actors, Lou Diamond Phillips is brilliant, Wahlberg is surprisingly bland.

A tragically stupid film. It is funny at times, but mostly because of how much stupidity oozes from it. Unfortunately, the worst part is that it doesn’t even work as as an action movie. The fast-paced scenes are downright laughable – absolutely incomprehensible, tragically edited, completely messed up. I tried to take it with a grain of salt, but at times it was truly unbearable. Unbelievable mess.
