Love Story muss man einfach lieben! So romantisch und zeitlos wie kaum ein anderer Film ist es die Geschichte über die größte Liebe des Lebens. In den 70er Jahren wurde der Film zum bis dahin erfolgreichsten Paramount-Film. Er erhielt sieben Oscar-Nominierungen unter anderem für den besten Film und einen Oscar für Francis Lais legendäre Filmmusik. Während der Dreharbeiten zu Love Story erkannten die Filmemacher, dass sie es hier mit einer ganz besonderen Geschichte zutun hatten - so besonders, dass Erich Segal zeitgleich aus seinem Drehbuch einen Roman machte, der ebenfalls zum absoluten Bestseller wurde. Die Hauptdarsteller Ryan O'Neal und Ali MacGraw, die beide Oscar-Nominierungen erhielten, wurden über Nacht zu Stars mit ihrer großartigen Darstellung des jungen Paares, das mit seiner Liebe alle sozialen Unterschiede überwindet, heiratet und schließlich der schwersten Herausforderung von allen gegenüber steht.
