Nach dem tragischen Unfalltod seiner Frau Anna hofft der Architekt Jonathan, durch übersinnliche Phänomene Stimmnachrichten aus dem Jenseits von ihr zu erhalten. Zunächst scheint er erfolgreich zu sein, doch Jonathan ahnt nicht, dass er durch seine Aktivitäten auch dunkle Mächte aus der Geisterwelt anlockt. Bald erkennt er, dass er nicht nur Nachrichten von Anna erhält, sondern auch Stimmen von Menschen hört, die noch am Leben sind - und deren gewaltsamen Tod er verhindern muss. (ARD)

Dieser Film gehört zu den vielen US-amerikanischen Standardthrillern, deren Anfangspotenzial in einem unpassenden Höhepunkt der Handlung verloren geht (Taking Lives - Für Dein Leben würde er töten), der durch nervige digitale Effekte unterstützt wird (Die Vergessenen). Der Plot ist dünn. Manchmal bekommt man Gänsehaut, aber sonst sieht man nichts Besonderes. Schauen Sie sich lieber noch einmal den Film Frequency an, der ein ähnliches Thema hat, aber deutlich sinnvoller und geistreicher ist.

Generally speaking, I don’t like ghost stories very much, but this one captivated me at the beginning. Unfortunately, the ending was pretty lame, but I still think it’s slightly above-average. 60%

Risk of spoilers It looked like an interesting project for quite a while, but only at the end did I realize how much the creators had deceived the audience. Such a subject could have produced a thrilling atmosphere, but instead there was only one scare and a lot of padding. It is clear that Keaton is trying in the main role, but the insulting conclusion, contradicting all the previously mentioned rules regarding the appearance of the dead, ruins any slightly good impression. Moreover, when the ghostly villains also lack a point, I cannot give a rating higher than the already struggling 30%.
