Bei einer Expedition im Jahr 1886 kommen Lord und Lady Clayton an der Küste Afrikas ums Leben. Ihr wenige Monate alter Sohn wird von Menschenaffen aufgezogen und als "Tarzan" zum Anführer der Affenfamilie. Als Tarzan dem belgischen Forscher Philippe D'Arnot das Leben rettet, lehrt ihn dieser mühsam zu sprechen. Schließlich überredet D'Arnot den Dschungelhelden, den Sprung in die Zivilisation zu wagen. The best Tarzan. Christopher Lambert is unmatched. Otherwise, this is an outstanding adventure film with a timeless theme that will not disappoint anyone.

This is a television classic for me, much more interesting in its first part when it takes place in the jungle. Besides the excellent makeup by Rick Baker, it also works well in terms of the storyline. Then comes the turning point, it's a bit dull, but in the end, there's hope that everything will turn out fine. One belongs where one wants to belong. A simple but powerful message.
