Inside Man

I can't recall the last time I enjoyed a BBC-produced series this much. Lately, I've been more accustomed to politically correct propaganda, which often spoils many good stories (like Terry Pratchett's). So, I was completely unprepared for this. From the very first episode, I was excellently entertained, and I found myself forgiving the creators for many shortcomings because it was clear that they didn't take themselves too seriously. / Lesson learned: How to become a murderer against your will quickly and easily. I'm giving this a solid four out of five stars because, oddly enough, I had a blast. It's a bit of a mishmash, really. There are elements of feminist propaganda mixed with some downright illogical or even bizarre moments, as well as pitch-black comedy. Somehow, it all blends together in a way that I found thoroughly enjoyable. / Lesson learned: One silly decision can kick off a chain reaction, and before you know it, you've got a mess on your hands that one basement can't contain. The second episode skillfully balances between the dreary, bizarre British setting and the sun-soaked, laid-back yet darkly humorous American scenes. While the British storyline may seem far-fetched, I can envision people becoming murderers under similarly absurd circumstances. What I appreciate is that the creators of the series don't seem to take themselves too seriously, unlike some users here. It's all in good fun for me, which is why I'm enjoying it. / Lesson learned: Does anyone know the name of the syndrome where the victim takes control of the kidnapper/attacker's mind? (29.02.2024)

I don't know... I have this weird feeling that this mini-series is revealing something dark in me. I'm starting to find the British part oddly funny despite all the tragedy. I mean, I'm not entirely sure if kidnapping and constant death threats should be making me smile. So, I'll just hope that nobody eats anyon's feet anytime soon. / Lesson learned: Beware of criminal Irishmen! (01.03.2024)

A satisfying conclusion to a great miniseries. The American part didn't quite keep up with the dark humor of the first half, but I nearly burst out laughing during the basement adventure in the British part. Morag was perfect, especially after the scene with the truck! Just like the previous episodes, the final episode shouldn't be taken too seriously, but that's just fine with me. I had a lot of fun. / Lesson learned: Always look both ways before crossing the street. (01.03.2024)
