Die Goldreserven von Fort Knox sind in Gefahr, und natürlich greift James Bond auf der Stelle ein. Doch der rücksichtslose Verbrecher Goldfinger verfolgt einen ausgeklügelten Plan.
Superschurke Auric Goldfinger (Gert Fröbe) hält die Welt in Atem: Der skrupellose Goldhändler ist mit den üblichen Spekulationsgewinnen nicht zufrieden, er hat Größeres vor. Zunächst scheint es, als plane er einen Überfall auf den sichersten Tresor der Welt: Fort Knox. Doch bald wird klar, dass es ihm gar nicht um den Raub von Edelmetall geht, sein Plan ist weit perfider: Mit einer schmutzigen Atombombe will der Bösewicht die Goldbestände kontaminieren und damit unverkäuflich machen. Mit der Verknappung des Angebots soll die Nachfrage nach seinen eigenen Barren, der Wert seiner Reserve ins Unermessliche steigen. Allerdings hat er seine Rechnung ohne James Bond (Sean Connery) gemacht. Dem Agenten im Auftrag Ihrer Majestät gelingt es, Goldfingers Privatpilotin Pussy Galore (Honor Blackman) zu verführen und so die Strategie des Schurken zu durchkreuzen. Statt giftiges Nervengas zu versprühen, lässt sie nur eine harmlose Wolke auf das streng bewachte Gelände von Fort Knox niedergehen. Als Goldfinger eintrifft, liefern sich die Wachsoldaten, die sich vorher tot gestellt hatten, einen erbitterten Kampf mit der Privatarmee des Bond-Widersachers. Sie können jedoch nicht verhindern, dass 007 von Scherge Oddjob (Harold Sakata) an die Bombe gefesselt wird, deren Zeitzünder erbarmungslos tickt.

007__#3__For me the main draw is the casting of Goldfinger (the excellent Swiss Gert Frobe) and his henchman Oddjob, played by wrestler Harold Sakata – I'll never forget his killer bowler hat. The main villain, as one of the members of the criminal organization Spectre, which accompanied the Bond franchise from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, does not want to take over the world, but thanks to an ingenious plan "only" to get as rich as possible, which makes the whole story more believable. Some of the scenes have aged, but otherwise I'm satisfied, though I don’t think this is the best Bond movie.

Drittens: Alles ... Gute. Der beste Bond-Film von allen und ein wahrhaft glorreicher (und unübertroffener) Einstieg von Guy Hamilton in die 007-Serie. Was ist so außergewöhnlich an diesem Bond-Film? Die Reinheit des Stils, das ausgefeilte Drehbuch, das alle bisherigen Attribute von Flemings Superagenten zu einer geschmackvollen und ausgewogenen Mischung aus Humor, Action, Spannung und visuellem Reiz vereint. Sean Connery liefert ein vorgefertigtes Konzert mit perfekt abgestimmten Instrumenten - Charme, Zynismus und traditionelle Schärfe. Der Gegenspieler Auric Goldfinger (Gert Fröbe) ist auf den ersten Blick ein Trottel, aber sein "Aufblühen" zu einem der größten kriminellen Köpfe aller Zeiten ist dafür umso besser... Und Oddjob? Ein unschlagbarer Bösewicht mit einem unübertroffenen Gewitter auf seinem Kopf. Die Geschichte ist nicht sehr aufschlussreich, aber wie bereits erwähnt ist sie perfekt verarbeitet, gestaltet und gefilmt. Vor allem Hamilton verlieh den Actionsequenzen viel mehr Dynamik als der hervorragende (und etwas orthodoxe) Stilist Young und etablierte damit ein neues Bild von James Bond, von dem die Filmemacher noch heute zehren. Ein zeitloser Klassiker! ___ Ein paar interessante Fakten: Gert Fröbe wurde aufgrund der Rolle ausgewählt, in der er einen Päderasten spielte. Er konnte kein Wort Englisch, obwohl dies der Produktion versprochen worden war, und so leierte er während des Films seinen Text herunter und wurde später nachsynchronisiert. Das Innere von Fort Knox ist eine reine architektonische Fiktion, die auf Hamiltons Idee von einem "Tempels des Goldes" beruht. Die Außenaufnahmen der größten Schatzkammer der Welt wurde in den Pinewood Studios in London gedreht. ___ Bond-Song: "Goldfinger" (Shirley Bassey)

The third and, as far as the later development of the series is concerned, also the most important 007 movie adventure. All the aspects that come to mind under the term Bond movie were established right here by Guy Hamilton. Above all, the entire plot is presented with significant hyperbole and completely diverted from the books the movies were based on. And this is where he killed the whole series of movies for me. I found the more realistic style of From Russia with Love much more pleasing. What has to be praised is the brilliant opening song. Connery’s charisma and overall entertainment are both there. Just that after this movie Bond will never be the same again. For some just what they want, for me a huge disappointment.

Among all the Bond movies of the era of the first three actors, this one is my favorite. Connery was in his best form and dealt with the most devilish villain, who even stole the title of the movie for himself, following the example of Dr. No. The best thing about it is, of course, that even sixty years after its creation, it would easily stand up to today's competition, even though the passage of time has started to leave its mark on the more extravagant scenes as well.

Three times is enough. I revived the slogan of uncompromising morality followers who, after the 3rd crime, are willing to send pickpockets to life imprisonment, and applied it to a series of classic Bond films. I told myself that if any old Bond title has a chance of success with me, it will be Goldfinger, which features a truly charismatic villain and is based on a book that I read as a teenager, so I should feel at least some nostalgia for it. However, I definitively verified the fact that the phenomenon of Bond films only started to become at least partially interesting to me with GoldenEye. This is unattractive, and outdated, with a long-expired warranty, but surprisingly still has a great reputation. The power of the brand does a lot. Overall impression: 40%.

Darn stylish, with lots of iconic scenes. Bond’s one-liners are real pearls this time. The scene with the laser is unpleasant to watch, even after all those years. But the locations could have been a little more exotic.

The opening song is vocally stunning and can be compared, for example, to Goldeneye by Tina Turner. The rest, however, is unfortunately weaker compared to the previous installment, even though it may seem impressive at first glance, a high-budget eye-candy joyride of that time. Perhaps fans were somewhat blinded by it back then, and today, the evaluation is hardly objective because sentiment plays its part, but Goldfinger cannot be a better film than the previous one. It is disgracefully simple, straightforward, and lacks various script elements, like, for example, the political conflict of the previous film. Instead of beautiful locations, we have a imprisoned Connery, and instead of darkness and intense fights, there is Mr. Tau and a Bond girl with the first name Pussy. What else can be said? The glossy facade hides its flaws. The quality is hardly average.

Kein Wunder, dass viele Menschen – wenn man "James-Bond-Film" sagt – an James Bond 007 - Goldfinger denken (obwohl sie es wahrscheinlich gar nicht wissen). Es ist nicht Connerys bester James-Bond-Film, er ist aber trotzdem perfekt. Möchten Sie Humor? Den gibt es hier. Möchten Sie Spannung, Actionszenen, eine Spionagegeschichte? Bitte sehr. Das alles in einem goldenen Mantel mit einem großartigen Schuft, der einen der interessantesten (und gleichzeitig einfachsten) Pläne von allen hat. John Barry ist wieder exzellent (anders geht es ja gar nicht) und die Musik läuft wie ein Uhrwerk. Ganz zu schweigen von Pussy Galore, die zu meinen Lieblingsbondgirls gehört. Die besten Szenen: Die Prügelei vor dem Vorspann, Bonds "Einstimmung" auf Goldfingers Wellen, die ganze Passage in Genf und natürlich das Finale in der Nähe von Fort Knox.

Although a memorable film, Goldfinger, and indeed the entire Bond franchise with it, reflects very subtly, and sometimes to its detriment, how film trends change at breakneck speed, with the genre greats of yesteryear becoming films that tempt the rather benevolent outlook of contemporary audiences. That said, Goldfinger is not only permeated with a dynamic story that leaves no room for directorial routine under its flood of car chases, shootouts, and the cleavages of several sexy Bondgirls, but it also carries the fresh charm of a recently bursting genre and has so many great and unseen ideas that you cannot be angry with it as a work that in some of the twists and turns succumbs to its age far more noticeably than, for example, some equally old conversational dramas. A nostalgic and humorous movie that more than deserves its high rating as a classic of all spy classics, even if it is sometimes too "off the rails"... :) 75%

Goldfinger’s caption could be "Macho Strikes Again". I guess only Bond can turn a lesbian into a heterosexual by the sheer force of his masculinity. Compared to the previous two films, there is less of the espionage atmosphere but more of the gadgets and one-liners. Bond films have taken on a new direction.

The first bond film where Q finally appears, along with some cool gadgets that give the movie a new charge. I have to say, as a kid, I really liked this. But in this film, there's so much more that grabs your attention. Besides the great villain, there's also his henchman with a deadly hat and, of course, the golden victims. It's beautifully terrifying. I don't remember all the bond films, and I think I've seen quite a few in the past, but this one definitely stuck in my memory. I think that speaks to its qualities. Some scenes and elements really etch themselves into your memory.
