Vor traumhafter Kulisse inszenierte Trainspotting-Regisseur Danny Boyle ein Aussteiger-Drama mit erschütterndem Ausgang. Frauenschwarm Leonardo DiCaprio spielt den amerikanischen Rucksacktouristen Richard, der in Thailand auf der Suche nach einem Abenteuer ist. In einer Billigpension erfährt er durch einen Zimmernachbarn von einem geheimen paradiesischen Strand. Richard beschließt, diesen Ort zu suchen. Unterwegs begegnet er einem französischen Pärchen, ebenfalls auf der Suche nach dem sagenhaften Ort. Anhand einer handgezeichneten Karte findet das Trio tatsächlich den traumhaften Strand an einer wunderschönen blauen Lagune gelegen. Dort lebt, fernab der Zivilisation, eine Gruppe Aussteiger nach eigenen Regeln in einer Dschungelkommune - das Paradies auf Erden! Doch die Idylle trügt. (Super RTL)
