Selah follows the Shepherd, a mysterious man who founded the cult she belongs to. All members of the cult are women, labelled either sisters or mothers by Shepherd, and live a life strictly governed by his rules. However, as Selah takes her first steps into young adulthood, her growing bond with the outcast Sarah sows the seeds of doubt, starting Selah on a journey of destruction that will engulf not only her but also the only world she has ever known. The Other Fail. Ein visuell erstklassiger Menstruationshorror / eine veraltete, krampfhafte feministische Fabel über die Befreiung von männlicher Unterdrückung sowie die Suche nach einer waschechten Wölfin. Szumowská und Englert sind ein gut eingespieltes Duo, aber diese schreckliche Drehbuchleere mitsamt der leider außer Bahn geratenen schauspielerischen Leistungen würde ich mir nicht zum Aushängeschild machen lassen. Der gelegentliche Blick zur Radikalität des Antichrists sowie der Entfesselung der ersten Staffel von Top Of The Lake zeigt nur, wie flach und harmlos dieses Lamm brüllt.

Visually, there is nothing to criticize about The Other Lamb. The unsettling atmosphere that accompanies the action also has something to it. However, the behavior of most characters is so irritating that I just can't get past it somehow. (45%)
