The nine lavishly produced half-hour comedies, each starring Michael Palin, spoof the stirring adventure stories that were a staple of Edwardian schoolboy life. Englisch In some comments, sentences like "They didn't disappoint me again" or "Flying Circus was better" appear. It would be nice to specify that the ones who didn't disappoint were not Monty Python because the works where at least two former Pythons appear are automatically considered a collective work of the legendary six, even though it is generally unknown that these talented creators had numerous side projects during their common work and, with the exception of Graham Chapman, were able to continue successfully in their solo work, often inviting individual colleagues from the group. It was no different with Ripping Yarns, which is a joint work of Michael Palin and Terry Jones. Although Jones only appeared in the first episode, his scriptwriting greatly influenced the story. Unlike the pointless Dadaist sketches or the anarchic style of acting from the Monty Python series, Ripping Yarns has a classic structure with a punchline and a story, while also mocking favorite genres, whether it's boys' stories, horror, classic detective stories, spy thrillers, or adventures, but at the same time parodying typical British customs and conditions, such as strong class divisions, snobbery, British exclusivity, or love for soccer. Once again, an exceptional sense of exaggeration, absurdity, and mocking "sacred" icons and traditions is evident. For me, it's perfect, and I can easily give five stars to each episode, with the exception of Golden Gordon, which focuses on football, which I am not interested in. Michael Palin once again proves that he is the best actor of the entire Monty Python sextet. Overall impression: 95%. ()
