Fête de famille

The family is meeting to celebrate Andréa’s birthday. Andréa gathers her children and grandchildren for celebration in the family house outside the city. When her daughter suddenly and unexpectedly arrives under rather turbulent forms, the weekend takes new turns. Andréa, who wants “them to talk about nice things”, struggles to keep the mood up and the family together. As is often the case with the family, there is everything between love, brawl, laughter and crying. We recognize ourselves well in family gatherings of this kind, everyone comes with their luggage, their expectations and their habits, and then it will be different feelings at different times for everyone. And the greatness of the film lies right there in that after a while we feel like part of this family. (Umeå European Film Festival)
