Eine Nacht ist nicht genug. Die Mitglieder einer Untergrundbewegung wollen sich nicht mehr mit einer Nacht der Anarchie und des straffreien Mordens pro Jahr zufriedengeben und überziehen das Land mit Massakern und endlosem Chaos. Niemand ist mehr sicher. Auch eine reiche texanische Rancher-Familie und ihre Angestellten bekommen das leidvoll zu spüren. Am Morgen nach der Purge-Nacht verübt eine Gruppe maskierter Killer ein Attentat auf die Ranch, und die beiden Familien sind gezwungen zusammenzuhalten.
