1944 entdecken deutsche Geheimdienstleute eine riesige militärische Anlage im Südosten Englands - offensichtlich eingerichtet für eine Invasion auf dem französischen Festland. Aber bei diesen Anlagen handelt es sich nur um Attrappen, die von den wirklichen Invasionsplänen der Alliierten ablenken sollen. Nur der Agent "Die Nadel" durchschaut das Schwindelmanöver. Er wird aber enttarnt, als er die kriegsentscheidende Nachricht Hitler überbringen will und bis ins schottische Hochland gejagt, wo er sich schließlich seinen Verfolgern entziehen kann.
