Hanna, 30, attraktiv und äußerst charmant, lebt das schillernde Pariser Großstadtleben einer freiheitsliebenden jungen Frau, unbeeindruckt von der Kultur und Religion ihrer halb-algerischen Herkunft. Ganz anders ihr Bruder Hakim, der das traditionelle Leben eines gläubigen Muslims führt und mit Frau und Kindern noch immer bei seinen Eltern lebt. Ein Gegensatz, der Anlass ist für ständige Auseinandersetzungen zwischen den Geschwistern. Was aber alle Familienmitglieder verbindet, ist eine seltsame Macke: sie sind einfach zu nett, jederzeit und zu jedermann, das Wort „Nein" scheint ihnen ein Fremdwort zu sein. Diese Eigenschaft stürzt Hanna regelmäßig in die größten inneren Konflikte, wenn sie in ihrem Job in der Personalabteilung wieder einmal einen Mitarbeiter entlassen muss. Doch Hanna wäre nicht Hanna, wenn sie sich nicht mit ihrer ganz eigenen, wenn auch sehr unkonventionellen Interpretation von „Abfindung" zu helfen wüsste - sehr zur Freude der Entlassenen. Als der charmante Arzt Paul in ihr Leben tritt, lernt Hanna, dass wahre Liebe keine Gegenleistung erwartet. Und auch zu ihrem Bruder Hakim tut sich unverhofft ein Weg auf, der die beiden wieder zueinander führen soll... (X-Verleih)

What to think of a movie that begins with a scene where some French nymphomaniac sleeps with some French dude in Škoda Octavia RS? She wasn’t bad looking but I also cannot say that she was that nice to look at. Meanwhile, a Muslim family got thrown in the mix and the creators started to make fun of Muslims so that they would show that Muslims are actually completely fine, progressive, and can laugh at an intelligent joke. At the same time, the movie tells the whole story with that typical French gradation which works really well in their comedies. The only difference is that all of that wannabe humor is so superficial that I actually felt sick. I felt as if the movie was trying to tell us how great Muslims actually are. That they aren’t really bad and that we can experience a lot of fun with them. Really?

The French have quite good comedies, and this one is an example of that. It's not a great slapstick, but the idea alone is excellent. A young woman who is a bit broken in the sense that she can't say no. Since she works in a department where people are often fired, it's a problem. So she found a way to overcome her psychological problem and make the fired employees' journey a bit easier. Basically, she sleeps with them. Building a story around this was an art, but it succeeded!
